Open lecture by Professor William Fleischman from the United States at the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy
On October 13, 2017, an open lecture by Professor William Fleischman of the University of Texas at Austin (USA) was held at the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy. Teachers of foreign languages and students of specialty 035 "Philology" had an extraordinary opportunity to communicate live with the nativespeaker and to touch the history and culture of the United States of America during the period of the Civil War of 1861-1865.
After a brief acquaintance with the audience, Professor W. Fleischman, who specializes in the history of American borders and related issues, led the audience to entertain the virtual journey of America during the struggle for freedom and democracy. The speaker paid much of his attention to the extraordinary figure of Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer (1839-1876) and his role in the most significant battles, victories and defeats of that period, which aroused considerable interest among those present.
