International cooperation

Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection M.K. Shikula has a long history of international activity, which is now coordinated by Professor Yu.S. Kravchenko. Since the 60s of the 20th century, soil science disciplines have studied more than 800 foreign students from Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, South and Central America. The most successful students continued their studies in graduate school, became famous scientists, professors and statesmen.
After the proclamation of Ukraine's independence in 1991, the quality of teaching and the structure of the disciplines of the department are transformed in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Declaration of 1999, developed Western European and North American countries.
In the future, the implementation of international standards in the educational process is theoretically substantiated and practically implemented within the framework of numerous international projects, such as: 159188-TEMPUS-1-2009-1-PL-TEMPUS-JPCR "Environmental curricula at the agricultural"; IMBASMA Tempus Project JET_27136_2006 "Impconference Basic of and Advanced Scientific Methodologies in Master Agricultural and PhD curula"
An important result of international educational activities is the introduction of English-language courses in the educational process (Soil Science with the Basics of Geology, Soil Science with Basics of Agricultural Chemistry, Geology with the Basics of Geomorphology), which combine both Ukrainian and international standard approaches to the content of discipline, conceptual apparatus, units of measurement, etc.
The educational and scientific activity of the department is reflected in in-depth cooperation with foreign partners. Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection M.K. Shikula is the initiator of the conclusion of international agreements with:
• Banat by the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine "1st King of Romania - Michael" Timisoara, Romania;
• North-Eastern Institute of Agroecology and Geography of KAN (China);
• Institute of Plant Production and Soil Science, m. Pulava (Poland);
• University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the city of . Skopje (Republic of North Macedonia);
• Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland),
• Diclair University (Turkey).
In recent decades, the department has accepted for internships for foreign students, graduate students, scientists and professors from: University of Pennsylvania (USA) – Rachel K. Owen, North-Eastern Institute of Geography and Agroecology of CAN (Harbin, China) – Chen Ziana, Jaolin Lee and others. Uyaye Sui, Northeast University of China – Gu Xi Yu, etc.
Foreign professors are frequent guests in our lecture halls in which they lecture (Jean Roll Renoir, La Sal Bove University, France; HJCUmi Yoshida, Tokyo University of Agriculture; Mr. Hosca, Coordinator of Government Industry Cooperation, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology) and conduct summer training schools (Professor – Richard Steihauer, University of Pennsylvania, USA). NPP departments are members of numerous international organizations and editorial boards of scientific cited journals, organizers of international conferences, take an active part in international scientific projects: Erasmus +, International Scientific Agricultural Program Voskobivnykiv (WIRA), Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration and Climate Change Mitigation by Use of Soil Conservation, EU Grant.
