European Accreditation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: Work on Self-Evaluation Report and Strategic Plan Continues

On September 27, representatives of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine met with Christophe Buhot, an expert from the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and a practicing veterinarian. The meeting was organized with the support of the University administration and the European project "Improvement of Legislation, Food Safety Control, Animal Health and Welfare in Ukraine."

At the beginning of the session, Christophe Buhot introduced the new head of the European project in Ukraine, Mr. Tony Wile. The Dean of the Faculty, Mykola Tsvilikhovskyi, welcomed Mr. Wile and presented the achievements of the faculty following over a year of productive cooperation with the project.

During the meeting, Christophe Buhot provided feedback on the faculty's SWOT analysis. He emphasized the importance of highlighting the faculty's strengths and identifying the new opportunities that will arise upon achieving European accreditation and international recognition.

The participants also discussed the necessary adjustments to the Strategic Plan. These updates will integrate existing faculty documentation with the broader university development strategy, the "Holosiiv Initiative 2025."

A significant portion of the agenda was dedicated to the Self-Evaluation Report (SER), specifically the section on the faculty's financial capacity. The discussion covered various financing models for European veterinary faculties and incentive programs for researchers working in university clinics and veterinary schools.

In conclusion, Mr. Tony Wile expressed his satisfaction with the level of discussion and the pace of transformation at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in preparation for European accreditation. The next meeting is scheduled for the second half of October and will focus on further sections of the Self-Evaluation Report and preparations for the expert visitation.
