Goals and Objectives of the Club
Goal: To provide training in the fundamentals of translation theory and techniques for scientific literature in the field, fostering the scientific and creative potential of bachelor's students at the Institute of Forestry and Park Gardening.
The main objectives of the club are:
Developing skills for accurate translation of scientific texts in the field;
Familiarization with genre and stylistic challenges in scientific and technical translation;
Mastering techniques for translating complex grammatical and lexical structures;
Understanding morphological and syntactic features of translation and learning lexical transformation methods;
Acquiring professional terminology;
Compiling a specialized terminological dictionary for forestry, park gardening, furniture, and woodworking technology;
Training in abstracting and summarizing scientific texts;
Encouraging participation in English language Olympiads, scientific student conferences, and seminars organized by the English Language Departments of NUBiP and other universities in Ukraine;
Supporting students in publishing articles in student conference proceedings and scientific journals;
Visiting exhibitions and museums related to students' professional training;
Organizing and conducting excursions in English at NUBiP’s Botanical Garden for forestry and park gardening students;
Participating in scientific seminars held for students by Cambridge University Press and Cambridge English Language Assessment.
