- Use of environmentally safe and cost effective ways not clear cutting of forests while maintaining biodiversity
- Development of optimal ways for recreational forest management
- Decorative and protective afforestation of heaps of coal mines of Donbass
- Natural regeneration of forests in Polissia and Forest Steppe of Ukraine
- Use and recovery of wild forest berry plants.
- Improving the prevention and protection of forests from fires, including forests on radioactively contaminated lands
- Use of GIS “Field Map” to study forests of Ukraine
- Improvement of the mechanization of logging works and forest exploitation;
- Improvement of the condition of trees in forest plantations;
- Determination of the correctness and timeliness of appointment of selective and continuous sanitary felling;
determination of the main factors causing the deterioration of the sanitary condition of plantations; - Forecasting the dynamics of populations of dangerous harmful insects and pathogens for the main forest-forming tree species;
