International activities
National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine started its international activities in 1950.
Since that time more than 3000 foreign students from 89 countries all over the world have graduated from the University and got scientific degrees in different fields of agricultural sciences, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine. More than 500 graduates have obtained Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences degrees.
For considerable contribution into international cooperation of NUBiP of Ukraine 30 famous scientists were conferred the title "Honorary Doctor of NUBiP" and 51 - "Honorary Professor of NUBiP of Ukraine".
Close cooperation with leading universities of the world allowed modifying education system of NUBiP of Ukraine according to the market relations and its harmonization with the requirements of the most prominent universities of the world. Iowa State University (USA) in 1996, Louisiana State University (USA) in 1998, Ghent University (Belgium), and Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) in 2002 endorsed NUBiP of Ukraine education system as comparable with those of them. In 2005-2008 Memorandums about Double Diplomas were signed between NUBiP of Ukraine and Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences (Germany) in MBA Programme, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) in MFA and MBA Programmes. Wageningen University (The Netherlands) in Environmental Sciences Programme, bioeconomics, biotechnology, Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) in Master Programme in Quality and Processes Management, Tokyo University of Agriculture in Bio-business Programme.
In 1998 on the International Conference, devoted to 100-anniversary of NAU (now NUBiP of Ukraine) Global Consortium of Higher Education and Research for Agriculture (GCHERA) was formed initiated by Iowa State University (USA), NUBiP of Ukraine and Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany). Reforming the world system oh higher education and science on the basic of new achievements of fundamental and applied sciences and information technologies, and also its adapting to the relative economic, national and religious peculiarities are the main tasks of the Consortium.
Rector of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Dmytro Melnychuk, who was the President of Consortium since 2001 till 2003, now is the member of Executive Committee and Honorary President of Consortium.
From June 25 to July 1, 2011 Institut Polytechnique Lasalle Beauvais (France) hosted the 7th International conference of the Global Consortium of Higher Educational and Research Institutions for Agriculture on the topic “Universities of Agriculture and Life Sciences : Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Rural Development”. For contributions to the development of cooperation between universities, Rector of NUBiP of Ukraine, Dmytro Melnychuk was awarded titles of Honored Professor of Iowa State University (USA), Honored Doctor of Humboldt University (Germany) and Honored Doctor of Ghent University (Belgium), Honored Doctor of Russian State Agricultural University - Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Honored Senator of Louisiana State (USA), Traveling Professor of Tokyo University of Agriculture (Japan), Honored Professor of Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Honored Doctor of University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland).
