On february 20, 2020, the All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference "Socio-communicative space of Ukraine: history and present", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of a special figure in the literature and culture of the 20th century, Maksym Tadeyovych Rylskyi, folklorist, literary critic, linguist, publicist, well-known public figure.

The conference brought together scholars, educators, students and pupils from many educational institutions in different cities in our country.

The special guest of the event was the grandson of the poet, the honored journalist of Ukraine, the head of the Rylskyi family foundation "Roses and grapes" – Maksym Heorhiyovych Rylskyi.

The rector of our university Stanislav Nikolaenko addressed the participants with congratulations. “It is not surprising that a scientific-practical conference is being held within the walls of our university,” the rector stressed, “because there is a museum-estate of Maksym Tadeyovych near the university, where he spent the last 13 years of his life. This allows our students not only to learn about the poet's life path, but also to immerse themselves in the creative atmosphere that prevailed half a century ago”.

The grandson of the famous writer Maksym Rylskyi also joined the greetings. He addressed the audience, including the youth, in the words of his grandfather:

To live with all of your body, whole heart and whole mind
In proud, creative, in cheerful tension,
To pick up from ages, all latitudes and longitudes
All that is live and life-giving, like honey on the world meadow!

A pleasant surprise for the participants of the conference was the speech-greetings of students of the after M.T. Rylskyi secondary school in village Romanivka – Maksym Rylskyi's small homeland – with the deputy director of the school for educational work. They made a virtual tour of the favorite places of childhood of a great poet called "My Romanivka in Pink".

The first to open the plenary session was professor Vasyl Shynkaruk with a report entitled "The phenomenon of nature in the poetic works of maksym rylskyi", emphasizing that the name of Maksym Rylskyi is forever etched in the history of Ukrainian culture, and the phenomenon of nature occupies a prominent place in his poetic creativity.

Mykola Zhulynskyi in his report on “The word about Ukraine of Maksym Rylskyi” shared present memories of his own past related to Maksym Tadeyovych and his family.

In his speech, Ivan Chyzh emphasized the peculiarity and philosophical depth of Maksym Rylskyi's poetic thinking, the patriotic orientation of his poetic creativity, drawing parallels with the present.

Maksym Strikha presented the participants of the conference Maksym Rylskyi as a translator of the world music classics.

A pleasant gift for those present, including for Maksym Heorhiyovych, was a video report about the life and work of Maksym Rylskyi, which was created under the guidance of the students of the 2nd year of specialty “Journalism.”

Among the participants and honorary guests of the conference there were representatives of schools, high schools, lyceums from different regions of Ukraine. Therefore, the conference, in addition, became one of the modern methods of guidance aimed at disseminating information about the university and the faculty for humanities and pedagogics in general and the department of journalism and language communication in particular.

The plenary session continued after the break. Interesting scientific reports covering different sides of Maksym Rylskyi's creative work were made by the great-grandson of Maksym Rylskyi Nazar Rylskyi, Honored Journalist of Ukraine Oleksandr Savenko, professor Vasyl Strilets, Associate Professors Tetiana Okhrimenko and Vyacheslav Prylyuk, Chairman of the T.H. Shevchenko “Prosvita” district association in the town of Derazhnya Olha Kovpak and others.
