History of the department

Department of electrical machinery and electrical operation was established and started its educational activities with faculty Electrification of Agriculture Kiev Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture in 1931. At that time it was called the Department "General Electrical and electric cars." The organizer and first head of the "General Electrical and electrical machines" was professor Inozemtsev Sergei Ivanovich, who also served and function of the first dean professor Inozemtsev S.I. headed the department from 1931 to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War (1941) and in the postwar period from 1945 to 1951. He was a renowned scientist in the field of electrical machines, author of over 60 scientific papers, including the first in Ukraine textbook for preparation of Energy Engineers agriculture.
While the department taught the following subjects: "Theoretical foundations of electrical engineering", "Electrical engineering", "Electrical machines", "Electrical measurement and electro-technology", "electricity grids and power lines," "Power plants and substations" " Elektrypryvod and use of electricity in agriculture. " These disciplines are taught by qualified professionals, including: professors Okulov L. Vasilev V., associate professor Goldstein M.G., Inozemtsev B.S., Kustovskiy G.G., Orlov A.V., teachers Artemyev V.S., Kovalenko V.V., Starinskiy V.G., Choni I.N. and graduate student Bondarenko S.P. In 1934 the Department of the Department of "Electrical engineering and electrical machines" distinguished two new departments: "Theoretical foundations of electrical engineering" and the department "Electrification of agriculture." During this time, the department has undergone extensive work to prepare the department textbooks Electrification of Agriculture, in particular - a textbook for colleges of agriculture "Electrical and use of electricity in agriculture" (1936), a textbook for agricultural electricians "Electrical wiring and right "(1937) and the textbook Physics for tractor drivers, drivers and mechanics, for a long time were the main textbooks in the study of electrical engineering.
During the war department continued its work in Alma-Ata, which was evacuated Institute. Thus, in the laboratory of the department organized a workshop on repair of electrical machinery that was important in the future direction of the department.
During World War II many of the department went to the front and defend the Fatherland from the German fascist invaders, among them - Baranetsky V.S., Vysochyn B.A., Derkach A.A., Inozemtsev B.S., Kalekust M .E., Toman O.S., Choni I.M. and many others.
In the postwar period, the department of electrical engineering and electric cars until 1951 continued to lead Inozemtsev Professor S. Teaching staff has changed, but its proud tradition started before the war, on the continuity of teaching staff, scientific, educational and teaching materials were continued as the old cadres who returned from the war and the younger generation of teachers who have come to work after its completion.
From 1952 to 1956 the department was headed by professor Kravers A.D., which also was the dean of the faculty. From 1953 to 1959 he worked at the Department of prominent scientist in the field of electrical engineering PhD, professor Inosov V.L., under whom completed and defended their dissertations Inozemtsev B.S., Luchuk A.N., Prutaka I.P., Procenko V.D., Hayduk V.N., Salo Y. et al.
From 1956 to 1973 the department was headed by professor Inozemtsev B.S., son of the first head of the department, who was scientific secretary special council departments mechanization and electrification of the protection of dissertations.

With the advent of the department in 1969, world-renowned scientist in the field of electromagnetic fields PhD, professor Tozoni О.V. has developed a new research direction in the theory and practice of designing electromagnetic energy converters using ETSOM. At that time it was executed and implemented a number of research works on modeling and calculation of parameters ETSOM electromagnetic induction heating processes, elektroseparatsiyi grain and characteristics of electrical machines. During the period from 1969 to 1975 under his direction were made theses Zyryanov V.V., Trakai V.G., Kvacheva V.G., Kovtun P.M. and doctoral dissertation Inozemtseva B.S. "Modeling and calculation of electromagnetic fields in the alternator with self-excitation" defense which was interrupted by premature death.
It should be noted that in the period from 1952 to 1973 the department there was a powerful scientific school in improving the efficiency of electric cars, which made a significant contribution to the further development of the theory and practice of electrical machinery.
During this period, the lecturer were written and published textbooks, manuals and guidelines among which should be noted - "Theoretical foundations of electrical engineering" I and Part II, "Operation and maintenance of electrical installations" (1969), "Electro expertness of material" (1971), "Calculation of 3-dimensional electromagnetic field" (1974).
In the period from 1974 to 1980 took place at the Department of Structural and organizational changes that led to the creation on its base at different times of 3 departments: "Theoretical foundations of electrical engineering" (head prof. Bogdanov G.B.) of the "Electrical Machines" (professors Adamenko O.I., Mishin V.I. and Associate professor Karpov I.V.) and of the "operation and maintenance of electrical equipment" (c), which in 1981 were again are united into a single department , which received its present name department "electrical machines and electrical operation."
From 1980 to 2000, the department was headed by renowned scientist in the field of electrical machines PhD, professor Mishin V.I. At this time the department within the above mentioned scientific school (Inosova V.L., Inozemtsev B.S. and Tozoni O.V.), there are two research areas with increased reliability and efficiency of electrical equipment: the first line was connected with the improvement of three-phase induction motors (supervisor professor Mishin V.I.), and second to enhance the efficiency of control devices (supervisor professor Sagach M.F., and later his student professor Kokhanivsky S.P.)
The main subject of research first direction (professor Mishin V.I.) was improved power characteristics of three-phase asynchronous motors with squirrel cage schemes by improving the connection of the stator windings and the use of so-called internal capacitive reactive power output. In the course of these studies in 1998, the department was created problem research laboratory headed by professor Mishin V.I., and now headed by his disciple – associate professor Chuyenko R.M. Conducted research and obtained results it yielded about 20 patents and protect 8 PhD theses among them - Lut M.T., Ratner A.J., Tarasenko R.A., Chuyenko R.M. and others.
The subject of the second direction of research (professor Kokhanivsky S.P.) is to increase the reliability of electrical control devices by introducing new composite contact materials and technologies for their recovery. Scientific research school Kokhanivsky S.P. are of great theoretical and practical importance - implementation into production. During this time, led Kokhanivsky S.P. received about 30 patents and was 4 PhD thesis authored by - Korobskyy V.V., Mrachkovskyy A.M., Nalyvayko V.A., and Radko I.P.
In 2000 he became head of the department professor Lut M.T., which also served the function and dean of rural electrification and automation of agriculture. This period, which continues today, marked the introduction of new technologies in education, such as the use of modern information technology, advanced technical equipment during the learning process and a new research direction for the development of scientific bases of operation of electrical equipment in agriculture, which was headed by professor Lut M.T.
During this period, the lecturer was prepared for publication and published many modern textbooks and monographs, the main ones are: "Fundamentals of technical operation of power equipment agriculture" (2008), " Electro expertness of material" (1980), "Handbook maintenance and repair of electric vehicles, tractors and combines "(1988)," Laboratory workshop on electrical machines for students of electrification of Agriculture III-IV accreditation levels "(2006)," Induction motor with internal capacitive reactive compensation power "(2009).
Since 2009 and in January 2011 the department was headed by renowned scientist in the field of electricity PhD, Professor Vasilenko V.V., who also worked for a long time professor of electrical agriculture NUBiP Ukraine.
