On March 2, 2018, on the basis of the Parasitology Department and Tropical Veterinary Medicine, a laboratory session was conducted on discipline "Industrial ecology of processing enterprises" for the 4th year students of the food technologies faculty and quality management of agricultural products.
Discipline "Industrial ecology of processing enterprises" studies the sources of waste generation, accumulation and removal from the premises, their physical and mechanical, biological abilities and chemical composition, modern methods of sanitary-hygienic assessment of waste, hygienic and veterinary-sanitary requirements for waste and systems and methods for their disposal. utilization, decontamination and use.
When performing technological operations in the process of various food product types production, much attention is paid to sanitary-hygienic assessment of sources and systems of water supply, as well as water for technological processes, the characterization of different types of waste that are formed at processing enterprises in the process of technological operations, as well as in the preparation of raw materials animal origin before processing.
Olena Semenko, docent of Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine Department, together with Vita Michalska, docent of the Animal Hygiene and Sanitation Department named after Professor A.K. Skorohodko, familiarized students with the most dangerous human health pathogens of invasive diseases that are common with animals and can be found in communal and industrial waste water and create a sanitary threat to open water.
Also, docent O.V. Semenko told students about the peculiarities of the ways of infecting animals and people with pathogens of various parasitic diseases and measures for the prevention of parasitogenous data.
