Career guidance meeting with high school students of Chernihiv region

During the student winter holidays, teachers of the Department of Soil Science and Soil Protection named after prof. M.K. Shikula traditionally hold career guidance meetings in general secondary education institutions, acquainting graduates with the possibilities of admission and study at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

The security situation and the prolongation of school holidays led to the abolition of some of the planned events. At the same time, thanks to active cooperation with educational institutions that continued to work offline, it was possible to organize a career guidance meeting with senior students of Chernihiv region. Partner of the Faculty of Agrobiology of NUBiP of Ukraine, with whom last year an agreement on cooperation of the Ladan Lyceum of the Ladan Village Council hospitably invited to get acquainted with its graduates.

During the career guidance conversation, schoolchildren learned about the continuity of the academic traditions of our university, modern approaches to the training of specialists in the agricultural sector, as well as about the peculiarities of student life - educational, scientific, sports and creative. Teachers of the university, in turn, had the opportunity to talk with high school students, answer the actual questions that concern future entrants, gave examples of successful training and further employment of university graduates.

Particular attention was paid to overcoming common stereotypes about agronomy as an exclusively "male" profession. Examples of professional achievements of graduates of the Faculty of Agrobiology have become a convincing confirmation of the wide possibilities of self-realization in this field.

The meeting left a sense of productive discussion and replenishment of the community of people informed about the benefits of studying at our university, as well as a traditional friendly photo.
