Visit of the representative of the German Embassy: support and new horizons of cooperation
On March 03, 2026, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine hosted Dr. Yvonne Gall — first secretary and adviser on agriculture, food and regional identity of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine. The meeting was held as part of strengthening bilateral relations between Ukraine and Germany in the field of Agricultural Science and higher education.
The Embassy was also represented by Evheniy VASYLCHENKO — manager of agriculture, food and regional identity of the economic department. The university was represented by the rector Vadym TKACHUK and head of the International Relations department Maksym KLYMENKO.
The rector introduced the guests to detailed information about the university, its structure, scientific achievements, strategic development priorities and its leading role in national agrarian science and education.
During the meeting, the parties were discussing the current challenges facing the agricultural sector of Ukraine in wartime, as well as specific areas of support that the Federal Republic of Germany provides to Ukraine in this area. It was, in particular, about preserving the agricultural potential of the state, restoring the destroyed infrastructure and ensuring the continuity of scientific and educational activities of the university, despite military realities.
Special attention was paid to Germany's experience in the field of renewable energy, an issue that is becoming increasingly relevant in the context of military aggression, and the post-war sustainable development of Ukrainian agricultural production. The parties also discussed the prospects for expanding international cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and partners from the Federal Republic of Germany, consolidating the University's leading positions in the agricultural sector and its integration into the European scientific and educational space.
The meeting ended with an excursion to modern laboratories of the faculty of animal husbandry and aquatic bioresources of NUBiP of Ukraine, which clearly demonstrated the scientific and practical potential of the University. The guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest equipment, modern research methods and real projects implemented by scientists of the faculty.
They were sincerely grateful to KONONENKO Ruslan Volodymyrovych — dean of the faculty, VOINALOVYCH Mykola Volodymyrovych, to professors and colleagues for a detailed tour and demonstration of opportunities to solve complex and difficult problems.
The visit of the representative of the German embassy confirms the recognition of NUBiP of Ukraine as a key partner in the development of agricultural science and education at the international level, as well as testifies to mutual interest in deepening the Ukrainian-German dialogue in the agricultural sector. NUBIP of Ukraine remains open to new forms of cooperation and is ready to actively participate in international initiatives aimed at the restoration and development of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex.
