On 26 March, the Institute of Water Problems and Land Reclamation of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine held an Open Day for future postgraduate and doctoral students. The event was held in a hybrid format, so members of the Agrochemical group, headed by Larysa Semenko, had the opportunity to attend.
The meeting was opened by Mykhailo Yatsiuk, Director of the Institute, who spoke about the main areas of research, laboratory capabilities, development prospects and successes in the field of land reclamation and water management. Mykhailo Yatsiuk paid special attention to the integration of the institution into the global scientific space and participation in international projects.
The participants got acquainted with the educational programmes in G19 Civil Engineering and H1 Agronomy. They were told about the admission requirements, study conditions and prospects for research at the Institute.
The heads of the scientific departments presented the activities of their departments, specific research and work, supporting their speeches with graphic illustrations and photographs. The students had the opportunity to talk to programme sponsors, teachers, researchers and potential employers.
After the official part, the head of the department, Sergey Usatyi, PhD, conducted a tour of the Irrigation and Drainage Testing Laboratory. The formation of flow and pressure characteristics of technical means of drip irrigation was demonstrated.
The agrochemical group is grateful to the management of the IAPM for the opportunity to visit the laboratory and get acquainted with modern methods of testing drip irrigation elements.
