Meeting of university scientists at the production of... roses

3 березня 2025 року
The rapid approach of spring is associated with beauty and flowers. University scientists had a unique opportunity to get into the space of unsurpassed beauty of roses.

At the invitation of Volodymyr Masich, Deputy CEO for Technical Affairs, Oleksii Opryshko, Associate Professor of Automation and Robotic Systems, and Nataliia Pasichnyk, Associate Professor of Agrochemistry and Quality of Crop Production, visited the greenhouse giant of Askania-Flora, the largest rose producer in Ukraine and one of the leading producers in Europe.

Volodymyr Oleksandrovych gave us a tour and introduced us to all the stages and components of production. More than 20 hectares of closed ground with roses, a high level of sophisticated technology - this is what impresses at first sight. But that's not all. We visited many production workshops, where a normal working day was going on. I remember the friendliness of the employees. It was clear that people were happy to work, and that meetings with management were common and pleasant for them. And I wanted to recognise the work of everyone at their place as exemplary. In addition, despite the large production volumes, the place is kept exemplary clean.

Greenhouses with roses are unforgettable. And this area of beauty is supported by a sophisticated and well-established level of technology, which is constantly being developed by specialists. "Our work is not only about maintaining the complex, but also about constantly searching for new solutions - both technological and related to the complexity of the present. If we were to stop, our large enterprise would have to be shut down" - from the story of Volodymyr Masich.

Automation of production, heat and gas supply, power supply and protection systems - we were shown each component in detail, and then discussed promising areas of research and cooperation.

Today, the company has more than 1,000 partners in all regions of Ukraine. These are hundreds of jobs, millions of roses - a manifestation of respect, tenderness, beauty and love.
