Energy Efficiency and Housing Renovation: Presentation of European BUSHROSSs Project at the Pryluky College

A scientific-practical seminar “Energy Saving and Renewable Sources: Modern Approaches and Prospects” was recently held at the Pryluky Technical Professional College, bringing together educators, industry experts, and students to discuss pressing issues of energy sustainability and efficiency.

During the event, an associate professor of the Department of Power Systems Engineering at NUBiP of Ukraine delivered a presentation highlighting the activities and initiatives of the Academic and Research Institute of Energy, Automation and Energy Saving. In particular, she presented the institute’s participation in the international project LIFE-CET-BUSHROSSs “Building up Skills for Home Renovation One-Stop Shops”, aimed at developing the skills needed for residential building renovation within a One-Stop-Shop (OSS) framework.

The speaker emphasized that the establishment of a one-stop-shop service for the modernization and renovation of residential buildings is one of the key tools for accelerating the energy upgrade of the building stock. Thanks to the OSS system, homeowners can receive comprehensive support—from consultations and technical solutions to guidance throughout all stages of energy-efficient renovation.

The goal of the BUSHROSSs Project is to strengthen the professional skills of representatives of public authorities, municipalities, energy agencies, and consultants who will be involved in the creation and operation of such services. To achieve this, the project team is conducting a series of training courses and workshops covering essential aspects of housing renovation and energy-efficient modernization. The training is organized in a modular format, which ensures its versatility and allows adaptation to the needs of different regions, both in Ukraine and across Europe.

Olena Shelimanova stressed that opportunities to participate in the trainings are open not only to teachers and industry specialists but also to students of the Pryluky Technical Professional College. Such involvement will help young people develop relevant competencies in the field of energy efficiency and prepare future professionals capable of implementing innovative solutions in the construction and energy sectors.

The event took place in an atmosphere of professional exchange, discussion of current trends, and practical approaches to improving energy efficiency—issues that are particularly important for the sustainable development of the region and the country as a whole.
