Preparation to entry

The NMT will contain four tests, three of which are mandatory, and the fourth is at the applicant's choice. The mandatory subjects are Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, and optional subjects are Ukrainian literature, one of the foreign languages (English, German, French or Spanish), biology, chemistry, physics and geography. The subject in which the applicant wishes to take the test as an option must be indicated when registering for the NMT.

Translation of tasks in mathematics, history of Ukraine, biology, geography, physics, chemistry for certification work will be carried out in Crimean Tatar, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian.

The model of implementation assumes that the participant will take all four subject tests in one day in two stages: the first stage (120 minutes) - completing tasks in the Ukrainian language and mathematics, the second stage (120 minutes) - completing tasks in the history of Ukraine and an academic subject of choice.

After completing all the tasks of the NMT, each participant will receive information about the number of test points he / she received for each block. The results of each subject, converted to a scale of 100–200 points, will be used for competitive selection. The tables for converting points to a scale of 100–200 points will be approved in advance by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. So, immediately after testing, the participant will know not only the number of test points he/she scored, but will also be able to orient himself/herself in what his/her results are for admission. For all specialties, coefficients to the results for each block of the NMT will be established. Information on the values of these coefficients will be contained in the Procedure for Admission to Higher Education in 2025.

As in the previous year, it is planned to hold main and additional sessions. Those applicants who, for good reasons, did not pass the test during the main ones will be able to take part in the additional sessions.
