THE GRAND OPENING OF THE "ALL-UKRAINIAN TOURNAMENT OF CHEMISTS"
Once again, the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is a co-organiser of the All-Ukrainian Tournament of Young Chemists along with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. After all, identifying talent for chemistry and encouraging the development of gifted young people in this area is of great importance in today's environment.
Despite the difficult conditions in the country, the Faculty of Agribiology continues to engage in the intellectual development of young people and their professional orientation under the coordination of the National Ecology and Natural History Centre of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
At the opening ceremony of the All-Ukrainian Tournament of Young Chemists, 150 schoolchildren from all over Ukraine registered for the 3rd round, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences Oleksandr Tsyz addressed the participants of the tournament with best wishes and greetings from the Rector of the University, Professor Anatolii Tkachuk, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences Vitalii Kovalenko. He noted that chemistry permeates all spheres of human life. It is everywhere around us. These are various processes in the soil, in plants, in water, in the human body. Chemistry has different areas of application in various industries, including agriculture. The first graduating class of young agronomists was headed by the outstanding chemist Dmitri Mendeleev. Chemistry issues are particularly relevant now due to the contamination of our soil as a result of military operations. I wished victory to the best.
Volodymyr Verbytskyi, Director of the National Ecological and Naturalistic Centre for Students, Oleksii Holubov, President of the Ukrainian Union of Chemists, and representatives of other universities also congratulated the participants on the start of the tournament.
The third day of the competition will be traditionally taken over by the Department of Agrochemistry and Quality of Crop Production and the Department of General, Organic and Physical Chemistry of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Life Sciences of Ukraine.
So, good luck in the tournament competitions! May the best win! We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to work and create in a free Ukraine!
