On December 17, 2024, lecturers of the Department of International Relations and Social Sciences and the Department of Philosophy and International Communication of the Faculty of Humanities and Pedagogy of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine visited the Lecture Room for scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions, which was held by the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.

The Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, Gennady Nadolenko, addressed the participants of the event with an introductory speech. He noted that he was glad to see young people, specialists among the interns and employees of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and emphasized that in the context of the European integration process, he was glad that scientific and pedagogical workers were included in the Lecture Room and hoped for further cooperation. The Diplomatic Academy plans to hold such meetings on a regular basis as one of the foundations of future cooperation.

Iryna Yefremova, Deputy Director of the EU and NATO Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in her report focused on the structures of the Council of the EU, with which the Department directly works on Ukraine's accession to the EU. Ms. Iryna emphasized that international students can undergo internships in the Department and, in the future, fill vacancies that are currently available in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Director of the EU and NATO Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Maksym Yemelyanov, devoted his speech to the retrospective and the current stage of Euro-Atlantic integration, outlining the role of the Ukraine-NATO Council. The presence of this structure allows for crisis communications and extraordinary meetings. The arguments for inviting Ukraine to NATO are confirmation of the irreversibility of its accession; geopolitical clarity; response to force; strengthening the negotiating position. Mr. Yemelyanov emphasized that the conclusion of security agreements with 27 countries is not an alternative, but only a supplement. Like Ms. Iryna, the speaker noted that his department is interested in ambitious young people who react quickly and strive to join the work.

Deputy Director of the Department of Public Diplomacy and Communications of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Iryna Shum reported on the key areas of development of public diplomacy of Ukraine. She highlighted the implementation of the main initiatives, in particular, the formation of the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, the translation of books by Ukrainian authors into foreign languages. According to her, the advantage of cultural diplomacy is that through the means of art it is easier and more understandable to convey important ideas to a foreign audience. Iryna Shum emphasized the importance of involving student youth in this process.

The participants of the event asked a number of questions to the lecturers and made a number of suggestions. The speakers gave detailed answers, so the Lecture Hall became extremely informative and constructive. As a result, both the organizers and the attendees expressed a desire to continue cooperation, scheduling the next meeting of the Lectureship for early 2025.
