The delegation of NULES of Ukraine visited the University of Pomerania in Słupsk

20 жовтня 2024 року

Active international activity is one of the priority areas of development of NULES of Ukraine. Thanks to the joint efforts of students, faculty, and management, our university is known not only in Ukraine but also abroad. One of the close and reliable partners is the Pomeranian University in Słupsk (Republic of Poland), which results in close relations with the University, in particular, academic mobility of students and teachers.

On October 18-19, 2024, the delegation of the NULES of Ukraine, consisting of the deputy dean of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy Ihor Butsyk and the head of the Center for Polonistics Oksana Zakhutska, took part in the celebrations dedicated to the beginning of the academic year at the University of Pomerania in Słupsk. At the invitation of the university, a large number of Polish and foreign partners, employers, government officials, and clergy joined the celebration of this event.

On behalf of the rector of NULES of Ukraine, professor Vadym Tkachuk, the president, Academician Stanislav Nikolaenko, and the entire team of Polish colleagues, Ihor Butsyk congratulated them on the holiday and wished them new success in their scientific and pedagogical activities. As a sign of respect and honor, Ihor Mykhailovych presented the rector of the University of Pomerania, Zbigniew Osadowski, with a letter of thanks from NULES for long-term and fruitful cooperation, and expressed his gratitude for the support of our students, teachers and compatriots in the difficult time of the full-scale Ukrainian-russian war.

Another significant event for the University of Pomerania was the awarding of the title of Doctor honoris causa to its Georgian colleague Irakli Burduli from the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, which became possible due to the granting of university status to the institution in June 23.
In addition to the inaugural academy, the guests were introduced to the university's material and technical facilities, research and education laboratories, and classrooms. A meeting was held with the director of the newly established Institute of pedagogy, Grzegorz Piekarski, and his deputies to discuss the existing cooperation and prospects for further cooperation. There was also a chance to meet with students of our university who are doing a free internship and studying as part of a double degree program in Słupsk. Students eagerly shared their impressions of studying at the university and living on campus, compared our education systems, etc.

So, we sincerely congratulate our Polish colleagues and hope for further fruitful cooperation between our universities!
