Educational lessons for schoolchildren on the prevention of rabies

 As part of the Jean Monnet project “Integration of EU One Health Frameworks and Policies in Ukraine” (EU4OH), associate professors of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine held an educational event on rabies prevention, a deadly disease that is one of the priority zoonoses in Ukraine according to the results of a recent assessment of intersectoral cooperation in the field of One Health. The event was aimed at raising awareness among schoolchildren belonging to the most vulnerable groups of the population about the risks of the disease and the importance of vaccination and safe behavior with animals.

The materials for the lessons were prepared in accordance with the principles of the One Health approach and were developed based on the recommendations of international and European organizations. In addition to the training sessions, students were provided with information booklets that they can use to share their knowledge with family and friends, thus raising the overall awareness of the community.

This event is an important step in the fight against rabies through education and prevention, aimed at protecting the health of both humans and animals.
