"European day of languages" at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy
"We need to learn languages-that's the only thing,
which is useful to know even badly"
(Kato Lomb)
The Council of Europe declared September 26 the "European day of languages", which aims to draw the attention of European citizens to the importance of learning languages for the development of multilingualism and intercultural understanding and encourage them to learn languages throughout their lives. This day is dedicated to promoting linguistic and cultural diversity, because the preservation and development of languages is the official language policy of the European Union.
European Language Day it is a significant event primarily for philological students therefore, every year on September 26, special attention is paid to this day, albeit in various forms – a discussion, workshop, or even a "five – minute session" in separate pairs. The current year European Language Day which was noted by philologists of various courses, is no exception.
Second-year students of specialty "Psychology" (gr. PS-22003) also joined the celebration of the European Language Day. The practical lesson on the discipline "Second foreign language – polish" was devoted to the most interesting tourist sites in Poland, virtually traveling through which students not only learned new words, but also got acquainted with the cultural and historical traditions and customs of our closest and most hospitable neighbors-Europeans.
