Open lectures as a way to exchange experience: March studios at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy

At the present stage of development of society, higher professional education is maximally focused on innovative quality standards and is a factor in ensuring the competitiveness of not only a specialist in the labor market, but also an educational institution in the market of educational services. Therefore, one of the priority tasks of modernizing higher education is to focus on training active, creative, highly educated and highly cultured individuals who are able to find their place in life, self-actualize in educational and professional activities. And this requires rethinking approaches to improving the quality of educational services, the dynamics of the growth of professional skills of teachers, by introducing innovative methods in the educational process. This is clearly manifested through the control, analysis and reflection of open classes conducted by the teaching staff.
In accordance with the rector's order "On improving the quality of education in NULES of Ukraine in 2022-2023 academic year" at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy open training sessions are systematically conducted; their purpose being to exchange of experience, form professional qualities of a future specialist, update intersubject relations and implement the acquired knowledge in practical activities.
Tetiana Semashko, professor of the department of journalism and language communication, started a series of open meetings with students of various faculties and specialties in March with an online lecture on the topic "Stylistics as a linguistic science and academic discipline. The place of practical stylistics in the media system", which was delivered to 3rd-year students of the specialty "Journalism" in the academic discipline "Practical stylistics" on the first day of spring.

 

Everyone could join the event, which was presented by the lecturer, and get useful information on the style of the modern Ukrainian language in the context of mass media. A special feature of the meeting was a linguistic experiment on the object and subject of stylistics as a science and academic discipline, as well as an analysis of the speech style of Telethon journalists. The highlight of the meeting was the audience's advice on choosing the right word fromMykola Stepanenko, professor of the department of journalism and language communication. On March 2, 2023, an open online lecture by Svitlana Kharchenko, doctor of philology, professor of the department of journalism and language communication, was held. Lecture on the academic discipline "Modern Ukrainian language of Mass Media" on the topic "Noun as one of the central parts of speech. Nouns in the language of media" was attended by students of the 2nd year of the EL "Bachelor" in specialty "Journalism" of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy, lecturers, representatives of the faculty and university administrations, as well as everyone who was interested in the topic of the lecture session dedicated to the noun and dynamic processes in the noun system.

 

During the lecture, the issues of classification of the noun and generic differentiation of the latest foreign-language non-declinable nouns were analyzed; the question of changes that have occurred in the noun system of the language, in particular in the declination of the genitive, accusative, and nickname cases of the noun. Students also learned about gender asymmetry in language and how to avoid it, as well as historical facts about the noun. The words of the lecturer were also diversified by the proposed fragments of the video.

During the lecture, students actively participated in the discussion and answers to the lecturer's problematic questions, the collapse of the ability to find and determine the categorical features of nouns in texts.

Anna Khyzhnyak, a talented instructor of the department of physical education continued the relay of open classes in the discipline "Sports metrology" (https://nubip.edu.ua/node/105793On March 13, students of the 2nd year of specialty 017 "Physical culture and sports", scientific and pedagogical workers of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy had the opportunity to listen to an open lecture on the metrological foundations of monitoring the physical condition of athletes. Students listened with interest and actively participated in the discussion of technical techniques for performing test control on the following parameters: body structure; speed and strength abilities; levels of endurance, flexibility and agility development. March 17 the instructor of the department of social work and rehabilitation Olena Altanova conducted an open lesson for first-year masters in the discipline "Basics of physical and medical rehabilitation". The topic of the lesson is "Sanatorium treatment as a restorative agent for chronic diseases and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities".

The audience was interested in such methods of Spa climate therapy as herbal medicine, thalassotherapy, Heliotherapy, Speleotherapy, aerotherapy, aeroionotherapy, aromatherapy, halotherapy, psammotherapy, terrencourt, landscape therapy, etc.
Anatoly Dolbin– a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is currently a part-time student in the specialty "Social and psychological rehabilitation", came to the class in person. He addressed full-time students with motivational words that encouraged young people to acquire the widest range of knowledge and skills. A special place among this knowledge should be occupied by ideas about medicine and health, because it can be useful for everyone (read more here).

 

The series of open classes was continued by bright representatives of the department of philosophy and international communication. Thus, on March 20, 2023, Oleksandr Kharchuk, an associate professor, held an open lecture in the discipline "Comparative Constitutional and public international law". The lecture was devoted to the concept, nature and scope of international law, its sources. During the lecture session, applicants for higher education were introduced to the concept of public international law and various approaches to its understanding. The characteristic features of modern international law, its functions and the role of international legal practice in the formation of its sources were considered in detail.
Students showed interest in the peculiarities of building a system of public international law and its differences from national law. The opportunity to ask about the figures of outstanding Ukrainian international lawyers who defend the interests of our state, were also paid attention to.

 

 

 

On March 22, 2023, an open lecture was held by the senior lecturer of the department of philosophy and international communication Dmytro Chornomordenko for 1st-year students of the specialty "Accounting and taxation". The topic of the lesson according to the curriculum was "Ukrainian philosophy", which is very relevant, especially in the modern realities of war, because self-identification is a necessary stage in the formation of patriotism and self-esteem. The issues devoted to philosophical thought in fraternal schools, the first universities (which fully reflects the traditions of leading European countries), leading ideas in the work of Hryhoriy Skovoroda, the phenomenon of Cordocentrism of Pamphil Yurkevych, the Kyiv school of philosophy, were considered. Students were particularly interested and further lively discussion (within the framework of the seminar session) was caused by the question of the image of the modern Ukrainian philosopher.

 

 

The lecturer shared with the students both theoretical material on the formation and development of philosophy on the territory of Ukraine, and interesting memories of outstanding Ukrainian philosophers of the late XX-early XXI centuries, who formed a powerful tradition and worldview of more than one generation of compatriots.

On March 23, 2023, an open lecture of the associate professor of the department of philosophy and international communication was held by Svitlana Heiko in the discipline "Religious studies". The lecture was devoted to national religions, characteristics of defining features and features of national religions. In the course of educational interaction, applicants for higher education were introduced to the characteristic features and features of national religions: the religions of Ancient Egypt and Greece (early national religions); Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism (late national religions).

 

 

Students showed interest in the peculiarities of national religions in the world and, in particular, in Ukraine.

 

On March 21, 2023, senior lecturer of the department of English philology of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy Renska I. I.held an open practical class for 2nd-year students, 2 group of specialty 231 "Social work" in the academic discipline "Foreign Language (English)". The topic of the practical lesson was: "The digital mind. Science. Museum». On March 22, an open practical lesson was held on the topic: "Digital Competence. Digital Skills-Psychology" in the discipline "Foreign Language (English)" for 2nd-year students of the specialty "Psychology" under the guidance of an assistant of the department of English philology Oksana Sukhomlyn.
During the practical part, students presented their own project developments in English, were active and had a lively discussion. Oksana Andriivna used various techniques of presenting material, namely: visual, listening, reading, brain storm.

 

On 22.03.2023, an open lecture of the senior lecturer of the department of pedagogy Iryna Kostyrya was held in the discipline "Leadership and administration" for students of the faculty of animal husbandry and aquatic bioresources. Students got acquainted with the features, rules and skills of teamwork. The problems of the importance of teamwork and the ways of success of the team and a particular person were clarified. The most interesting point of the lecture was the discussion forum on the topic: "Teamwork – why it is important in the modern world", during which the cornerstones of teamwork were highlighted, in particular: the presence of an experienced leader, a clearly defined goal of work and competently distributed tasks, sincere mutual respect within the team, a common "vision" of the necessary result by all team members, taking into account the individual characteristics of team members.
Lecturers of the department of English philology continued to share their pedagogical experience and innovative methodological developments. On March 24, senior lecturer of the department Iryna Rozhon invited to her open lecture on the discipline "Foreign language", organized for 3rd-year students of the specialty "Economics". Students were presented with useful phrases and terms for economists, resources and literature that can be used to study professional English for economics in an interesting interactive way.
The open lecture session of the senior lecturer of the department of physical education Olena Otroshko in the discipline "Theory and methodology of physical education" for second-year students of the specialty "Physical culture and sports" of the faculty of humanities and pedagogy, was successful and interesting (https://nubip.edu.ua/node/124029).
Lecturers of the department of international relations and social sciences continued the series of March lectures. So, on March 28, 2023, an open lecture on "Integration processes in the European region in the XX century" was organized, which is implemented within the framework of the Jean Monnet EVADEM Module. Active participants of the event were 3rd and 4th year students of the specialty "International relations, public communications and regional studios". The main invited guest of the open lecture was a professor at the Comenius University in Bratislava – David Reichard.
During an interesting and interactive communication conducted in English, issues of political and economic registration of Europe were discussed, namely interesting aspects of European integration from the end of the first and Second World Wars to 1993, the beginning of the European Union (read more here)

 

 

The conducted open classes confirm the high level of professional competence of the teachers of our faculty, who constructively cooperate and exchange experience with colleagues, generously share advanced and innovative developments in the field of future professional activities with students.
As Benjamin Franklin said, "Experience is a school where lessons are expensive, but it is the only school where you can learn."
