Meeting with stakeholders is a step towards improving educational programs and ways of cooperation
A significant advantage of EPP "Journalism" for applicants of the first and second levels of higher education in NULES of Ukraine, is a focus on practice-oriented training, which provides students with a unique opportunity to acquire the necessary professional skills. Research and teaching staff of the department of journalism and language communication together with the relevant members of the employers' council is constantly in search of new forms of cooperation, in order to improve the educational process and the prospect of further employment of future graduates of specialty 061 "Journalism".
On March 24 at the meeting of the department of journalism and language communication the programs were discussed with research and teaching staff and students of specialty 061 "Journalism" and stakeholders: Larysa Huk - journalist, President of the Union of agrarian journalists of Ukraine; Alla Didenko - journalist, chief specialist of the communication department of the Department of information policy, communication and protocol events of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for human rights; Valentyna Batrak - director-editor of Media Center Pereyaslavshchyna LLC; Alla Zlenko - candidate of historical sciences, associate professor, head of the department of social communications, document science and information activities of Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereyaslav; Valery Bashmanivsky - candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, head of the department of journalism, advertising and PR of Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University; Natalia Shulska - candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the department of journalism of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The meeting began with an opening speech Marina Navalnaya - doctor of philology, professor, acting head of the Department of journalism and language communication, guarantor of the educational and professional program of the second (master's) level of higher education in specialty 061 "journalism", which warmly welcomed all participants of the event and sent those present to discuss educational programs.
Svitlana Kharchenko doctor of philology, professor, guarantor of the educational and professional program of the first (Bachelor's) level of higher education in specialty 061 "Journalism" focused on new challenges, which dictates time, and therefore the need for close cooperation with stakeholders.
Further, the meeting participants discussed educational programs and worked out ways of cooperation between the department of journalism and language communication and potential employers.
Alla Zlenko noted the completeness and diversity of educational and professional training programs for specialists of EL "Bachelor" and "Master" of specialty 061 "Journalism" of the NULES of Ukraine and outlined their basic components: orientation in the field of eco-journalism, providing information support for agribusiness.
Larysa Huk and Alla Didenko noted the importance of the agricultural direction in the educational and professional journalism program for Masters, since there are not enough specialists specializing in this area in Ukraine.
The discussion of educational programs was joined by Valery Bashmanivsky, who also spoke about the possibilities of improving the skills of the teaching staff and invited lecturers to share their own experience by conducting guest lectures for students. One of these lectures for students of Zhytomyr State University named after Ivan Franko has already been conducted by a professor Maryna Navalna.
Valentyna Batrak stressed that "every student who has basic skills in preparing journalistic material can become a part of the creative team of Media Center Pereyaslavshchyna LLC, where students will be able not only to acquire new knowledge and skills, but also to achieve high professional growth."
Now the department of journalism and language communication of NULES of Ukraine is an organizer and co-organizer of scientific events: conferences, round tables, seminars, which are held to exchange experience in training highly qualified specialists in the field of journalism for professional activity in modern conditions of media space transformations. Natalia Shulska noted the high publication activity of students of NULES of Ukraine and thanked them for their close and fruitful cooperation.
Applicants also joined the discussion of educational programs in specialty 061 "Journalism": Diana Kharchuk - first-year master's degree; Olha Tkach, Konstyantyn Rybalka, Maryna Kachuryna - 4th year bachelors.
As a result Maryna Navalna thanked everyone for their suggestions, fruitful and effective communication and cooperation.
