COMPETITION-DEFENSE OF SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH WORKS OF STUDENT MEMBERS OF MAN OF KYIV

     On February 20, 2023, the fifth day of the 2nd (regional) All-Ukrainian competition for the defense of scientific and research works of students-members of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for young researchers of the "Zoology" section of the scientific department of chemistry and biology took place. The meeting was held online, coordinated by Iryna Solovyova. The evaluation of students' works and reports was carried out by a jury composed of the chairman, doctor of biological sciences, professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology of Animals named after academician M.F. Guly of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine Igor Kalinin and members of the jury: candidate of biological sciences, associate professor of the department of animal biology of the faculty of animal husbandry and aquatic bioresources of the above-mentioned university Ivan Mityai and candidate of agricultural sciences, assistant of the department of ecology and zoology of the NSC "Institute of Biology and Medicine » Serhii Karlashchuk of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.

     Young zoologists of the Kyiv Region presented their first scientific research related to the study of invasive diseases characteristic of humans and water bodies of the region, the biology of the cabbage looper and measures to limit its number, the periodicity of generations of the May western hornet by the method of determining the population density, and universal bee keeping technologies.

    During the students' presentations, all participants actively asked questions, and each presentation turned into a small scientific discussion. The members of the jury noted the high level of scientific and research works of the participants, their relevance and practical value for our region.
