MASTERS OF PHILOLOGY SUCCESSFULLY PASSED THEIR PRE-DEFENSE OF THEIR MASTER'S THESE

From 07 to 09 November 2022 at the faculty of humanities and pedagogy preliminary defense of Master's theses for students was held EP "English and a second foreign language" by specialty 035 "Philology", specialization 035.041 " Philology (German languages and literatures (translation inclusive), first-English)". Pre-defense in online mode was held for masters of correspondence and full-time forms. The Masters ' reports were accompanied by presentations in electronic form. Participants of the online conference at the preliminary defense were scientific supervisors: associate professor Sydoruk H., professor Nikonova V., associate professor Holtsova M., senior instructors Luhova T., V. V. and Molotkina Yu.
Of particular interest were the following reports: "Complex terminological combinations of agricultural type in English-language scientific and technical discourse and their translation into Ukrainian"; author – Inna Knysh, scientific supervisor - professor Maria Lychuk; "system-functional characteristics and features of translation of English cosmetology and aesthetic medicine terminology into Ukrainian"; author – Valeria Savchenko, scientific supervisor – associate professor Marianna Holtsova; "Verbalization of the concept of a woman in modern English-language song discourse", author – Valeria Trufanova, scientific supervisor – senior lecturer Yulia Molotkina; "Onomastic realities as a component of intercultural communication and ways of their reproduction in the Ukrainian language", author – Olha Sydorenko, scientific supervisor - professor Maria Lychuk; "Linguistic features and translation of English-language riddles", author – Olha Unguryan, scientific supervisor – Prof. Vasyl Shynkaruk; "Word-forming potential of neolexics during the pandemic period (based on the material of Ukrainian and English languages)", author – Oksana Tepla, scientific supervisor – professor Nikonova V. H.
The Masters showed a deep awareness of the topic of scientific research, the ability to reveal tasks and get results, understanding the importance and relevance of the topic of scientific research in the context of modern research on the stated problem.

The Masters confidently presented their reports and presentations: Yulia Samoylenko "English-language euphemisms and ways to translate them into Ukrainian", scientific supervisor associate professor Halyna Sydoruk; Karina Urdyuk "Lexical-semantic and system-functional characteristics of the English vocabulary of diplomatic documents and strategies for their reproduction in the Ukrainian language", scientific supervisor associate professor Marianna Holtsova.
In general, full-time and part-time Masters showed their readiness for the final defense, tested their knowledge of the main theoretical and practical translation provisions and theories, studied previously .
