Organization of scientific research, academic integrity, scientific information resource is within view of the department of international relations and social sciences

On September 28, 2022 the target meeting  of masters and postgraduates of the department of international relations and social sciences and the director of the library of NULES of Ukraine Tetiana Kischak, took place.

The participants were introduced to the main components of the library and information resource – the book fund, periodicals and funds on electronic media, new receipts and new opportunities of the library, online services (electronic delivery of documents, obtaining UDC online), the work of an interlibrary subscription.

Attention was focused on the ethical principles and rules that masters and postgraduates should adhere to when writing abstracts, scientific articles, theses and PhD theses in order to ensure confidence in the results of training and scientific activities.
Clarifications were made regarding violations of academic integrity (plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, cheating, falsification, deception, bribery) and academic liability.

Masters and postgraduates were introduced to the possibilities of programs for checking for plagiarism (Unichek, Strike Plagiarism): the types of work that are checked in the higher educational establishments, verification mechanisms, features when working with programs, advantages when using a particular program.

Considerable attention was paid to the problem of finding scientific information in scientometric databases (Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Research4Life, Directorate of open access journals, Google Scholar) and the work of the information monitoring service.
In general, the meeting provided a lot of useful information for both first-year applicants and those who have been studying and conducting scientific research for several years.
