December 14 - Day of honoring the participants of the liquidation of the Chornobyl accident

 At the faculty of humanities and pedagogy of NULES of Ukraine in the cultural and educational work of the department of international relations and social sciences in groups MB-21001b, MB-19003b was organized a thematic information event to honor the Chernobyl accident. Student Diana Sydorenko prepared a presentation "Liquidators of the Chornobyl disaster."

  The accident in April 1986 at the fourth power unit of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant was one of the greatest catastrophes in human history.

   It has been 35 years since the Ukrainian people faced a severe ordeal that shook the entire planet.

  On December 14, 1986, the construction of a protective sarcophagus over the destroyed power unit was completed at the Chornobyl NPP. This was, in fact, the first serious and important victory over the sinister atom that escaped human control after the April explosion.

   Therefore, according to the Presidential decree, starting from 2006, it is on December 14 that Ukrainians honor those who, at the cost of heroic efforts and their own lives, managed to stop the nuclear monster.

We pay homage to the heroism, devotion and courage of the Chornobyl liquidators,

who saved the world from the deadly rays of radiation,

sacrificing the most precious thing - their health and life.
