The Department of Livestock Production Mechanization was established in 1960. Associate professors P.I. Kondratiuk and V.M. Syniavskyi, Assistant Professors O.L. Ivashyn and D.A. Domashchenko were the founders of the department. Associate Professor I.T. Osmak was elected the first head of the department. Now the department is headed by Dr.habil., Associate Professor Vasyl Khmelovskyi.
The major fields of scientific development at the department are:
• improvement of current and development of new means of livestock production mechanization;
• substantiation of scientific principles, technological and technical solutions of resource-saving in livestock production;
• development of advanced technologies for animal waste processing.
