The Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology of NUBIP of Ukraine has started a series of All-Ukrainian scientific and practical seminars "Laboratory diagnostics: education, science, practice".

The first such workshop started on October 17, 2018, during the XI International Exhibition LabCompIEX (KyivExpoPlaza Center, Pavilion No. 1, Conference Hall No. 8) and was devoted to the 120th anniversary of the foundation of NUBiP of Ukraine (Order No. 1064 dated October 3, 2018).

Laboratory diagnostics accompanies veterinary medicine during all stages of its implementation. Veterinary medic need to analyze the blood of animals and explore away from healthy animals (scheduled) or patients or epidemic (forced) various research material, food or feed. In this case, the test material must be sent immediately to the laboratory for testing, where it will be subjected to different methods of analysis to determine the exact cause of the infection or the composition of the normal microflora. Laboratory diagnosis is often used to predict a variety of epidemics or to determine the quality of vaccines.

Therefore, experts from practitioners, educators and scholars from all over Ukraine were invited to participate in the All-Ukrainian seminar. This year, specialists from such institutions - FAO (UN), PP "Kronos Agro", NGO "Ukrainian Pest Control" responded. Association 'service department of "OPTEK" industrial microbiology department of UKRBIO, Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary Expertise, Division interferon and immunomodulators IIR them. DK Zabolotnyi Department of Microbiology, Pharmacology and Epizootology of Zhytomyr National Agro-Ecological University, Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality of Animal Production Safety, Institute of Animal Health, NUBIP of Ukraine, and, of course, the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology of NULES of Ukraine.

The seminar was opened by the director of the Institute of Animal Health of Ukraine
Zasekin D. A., Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, who noted the timeliness and necessity of such measures and leading role in them at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology of NUBIP of Ukraine.

Head of this department, doctor of sciences, professor T.V. Mazur briefed those present on the peculiarities of biosecurity in diagnostic laboratories, providing detailed information on dangerous infections common to humans and animals, and data on the spread of viruses and microbes in case of non-compliance with safety practices when working with them.

The thread of the story was continued by D.V.N., Prof. this same department O.V. Yablonska, speaking in one report on the laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases and the features of the program of this seminar, giving examples of classical, modern and newest methods of laboratory analysis,

and in another (in co-authorship with the search engineer of the same department, master O.V.Savchuk) - about the features of diagnosis and biological properties of staphylococci, emphasizing their innocence and resistance to low temperatures.

Features of the diagnosis of Yersiniosis toxicoinfection presented by Cand. Sci., Assoc. Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology, NULES Ukraine G.V. Kozlovska, emphasizing the presence of Yersinia in foods and the dynamics of her sensitivity to antibiotics.

National Consultant, FAO (UN), epizootiologist, Ph.D. VV Polishchuk presented an extremely interesting experience of using SIDU in diagnosing AHF in Ukraine, maps of Ukraine with the labs where research was conducted, quantitative and statistical analysis of this disease.

Interesting reports were from colleagues from the Department of Microbiology, Pharmacology and Epizootology of ZnNAEU. The special features of diagnostics and prevention of contagious diseases of bees and with a detailed description of clinical signs of diseases and appearance of its pathogens was told by D.Sc., prof., Head of this department O.E. Galatiuk (co-authored with Ph.S. Marchenkov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of PP "Kronos Agro").

Particularly popular in the laboratory and clinical practice of veterinary and humane medicine received the use of nanoparticles and the peculiarities of the application of enzymically enriched nanoseland probiotic L.plantarum IMV B-7679 told the Senior Scientist, Department of Interferon and Immunomodulators problems IMI im. DK Zabolotny N.O. Timoshchok.

Colleagues from ULQABPT reported on vaccination as an element to prevent the spread of antibiotic resistance of microorganisms - the director of this laboratory member of the corporation. NAAN VO Ushkalov

and on the details of detection and differential diagnosis of thermophilic campylobacteria - Cand.Sc., Ph.D., L.M. Vygowska.

Head of NGO "Ukrainian Pest Control. Association" S. Krivodonov talked about pest control. Modes and conditions for conducting it for laboratories.

The decoration of the workshop was 3 master classes, in which everyone present had the opportunity to master the rules of microscopy and microscopic care

("Modern technologies of light microscopy for Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology", conducted by colleagues from OPTEK LLC ZV Smila and art. engineer of the service department V.Gridasov);

Ave special NDILDVSE N. Ya. Mekh introduced chromogenic environments and differential diagnostics of enterobacteria ("Peculiarities of the identification of pathogens of bacterial food toxicoinfections using chromogenic media");

to review systems for rapid automated detection of microorganisms ("Automated microbiological methods for the needs of veterinary laboratories and laboratories of sanitary and veterinary expertise", the head of the department of industrial microbiology of UKRBIO A. Slobodyanyuk).

All the heard reports were of interest to the present, the speakers received a flurry of questions and gave them ground-based answers. During the seminar, the information received was discussed.

All the staff of the department were involved in the workshop, and 3rd year students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of NULES of Ukraine, Stryzhak Anastasiya, Sharapova Anna and Yulia Spertna, helped in the process of registration and photographing.

At the end of the seminar, all speakers received certificates and diplomas.

Within the framework of the seminar an exhibition of achievements of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology was held, which caused a keen interest from colleagues from other universities.
