Professor of the department of forestry Serhii Zibtsev made a speech at an annual summit of OSCE in Vienna

     Vienna hosted an annual summit of OSCE to discuss the assessment of steps of economic and ecological safety in October. Representatives from 57 countries-members of OSCE, including one from Ukraine participated in the summit. In 2017 Austria presides in OSCE, thus, highlighting the issues ecological aspects of safety such as the impact of the climate change, the effect of emergency situations due to floods, fires on the society, economy and environment.  

     Professor of the department of forestry Serhii Zibtsev was invited to make a speech «The enhancement of reducing the risk of emergency situations and management at all levels» at the plenary session.

     The speaker drew the audience’s attention to three main aspects of the activity of Regional Eastern European Fire Monitoring Center such as (1) steps to assess the impact of fires in Chornobyl Exclusion Zone on the population and environment; (2) fires on agricultural lands; (3) fires in ATO zone.
