The colleague of the department of physics was awarded the title of Laureate of State Prize of Ukraine

Doctor of Sciences Professor Georgiy O. Sukach awarded the laureate of State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology in 2009 for work "Development of high-performance optoelectronics technology and communication systems based on them", which solved a major scientific and technical issue of development of physical and technological foundations of optoelectronics materials and devices and system questions of advanced optical info communication transmission systems that stipulates the independence of the state.

For 2006-2007, the economic effect of deployments of developments in Ukraine was about USD 40 mil.; State income from the export of high technological photo detectors reached $ 50 million.
