The Department of Veterinary Medicine strengthens cooperation with the University of Hannover (Germany)

     On November 9-13, 2015, the official delegation, including the Dean of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Academician of NAAS of Ukraine – Tsvilikhovskyi M.I., Head of the Chair of Epizootology and Organization of Veterinary activity, Professor – Nedosekov V.V. and head of international programs of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, assistant professor – Halat M.V. supported by the leadership of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and the German-Ukrainian Agro-Political Dialogue and directly by its leader, Volker Sasse, took part in a specialized information visit “Control and Organization of Veterinary Medicine, Quality of Animal Products - German experience”.

     Delegation was led by the Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, representatives of the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada and the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine. During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to participate in the official opening of an agricultural exhibition «AgriTechnika», which takes place every two years in Hannover and is one of the largest world exhibitions in agriculture, visited the Ukrainian-German information event “Reforms in the agricultural sector of Ukraine – results and prospects”, which opened with the speech of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine – Oleksiy Pavlenko. Also during the trip, participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the German organization of public administration on ensuring the quality and safety of products of plant and animal origin, to visit the Office of Consumer Protection and Safety of Agricultural Products of the Federal State of Lower Saxony (President – Dr. Eberhard Hanhorst, who has repeatedly visited the Department of Veterinary Medicine and lectured for students, as well as for specialists of Veterinary Medicine and anybody who wants to), Epizootic Cash of Lower Saxony, Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal State of Lower Saxony and to talk with the leaders of these institutions.

     Of special importance was the visit of the University of Veterinary Medicine of Hannover, where the meeting was held with President of the University, Dr. Gerard Grief, professors – Nicolas Kemper and Günter Klein, as well as a tour round the center of clinical skills of the University, with which today the Department of Veterinary Medicine is working on developing partnerships and establishing further cooperation.
