NUBiP of Ukraine and SGGW: new opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation
On June 17, 2025, a solemn signing of a cooperation agreement took place between the NUBiP of Ukraine and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Szkoła Główna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego w Warszawie, Sggw), Poland. The document was signed by the rector of NUBiP of Ukraine Vadym TKACHUK and rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences Michal ZASADA. Its conclusion confirms the joint desire of both institutions to deepen international academic and scientific cooperation.
The signed agreement is a logical continuation of many years of previous cooperation and lays the foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in such areas as:
- academic mobility of students, postgraduates and teachers;
- participation in international research projects, EU grant programs (in particular Horizon Europe, Erasmus+);
- conducting joint scientific conferences, symposia, seminars and summer schools;
- development of innovative approaches in training specialists for the agricultural sector, bioeconomics, ecology, nature management and food security.
Cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and SGGW has a long history, which includes joint educational and research projects, academic exchanges, and organization of scientific events. Updating the agreement allows not only to preserve the already established forms of cooperation, but also opens up new prospects in response to modern challenges and priorities of the European educational and scientific community.
Partnership with Warsaw University of Life Sciences is of particular importance for NUBiP of Ukraine since Poland is a strategic partner of Ukraine in the process of European integration, in particular in the fields of education and science. SGGW is one of the oldest and most authoritative agricultural universities in Central and Eastern Europe, which occupies a leading position in the world rankings of agricultural science.
The signing of the agreement opens up new opportunities for implementing joint initiatives aimed at supporting the integration of Ukrainian education and science into the European space. Warsaw University of Life Sciences is one of the leading agricultural universities in Europe, which allows both sides to deepen cooperation in important areas for the modern world — from the adaptation of agriculture to climate change to the development of innovative technologies in the field of food systems and biosafety.
The rectors expressed confidence that the renewal of the partnership will contribute to the stable development of new joint initiatives, exchange of experience, enrichment of scientific schools and the formation of joint projects that are important for the development of agricultural science and education in Europe.
Warsaw University of Life Sciences is a participant of the European alliance of UniGreen universities, where NUBiP is an associate partner. The meeting discussed the activities that are planned within the framework of the Alliance and the University's involvement in them.
