NUBiP of Ukraine is represented in the International Sustainable Development rating Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025

June 21, 2025
The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine was nominated for the first time and entered the international rating Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, which evaluates the contribution of universities to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to the results of the current assessment, NUBiP of Ukraine occupies a position in the group of 1001-1500 among universities in the world, taking the 11th place among Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings have been formed since 2019 and cover universities from all over the world that integrate the principles of sustainable development in their educational, scientific, managerial and social activities. The assessment is based on a number of indicators that reflect the efforts of universities in such areas as the quality of education, research, interaction with the community, inclusivity, environmental responsibility, cooperation with state and international institutions.

Participation in the rating of this format makes it possible to assess not only academic achievements, but also the real impact of the University on the development of society and the state. For our university, which traditionally focuses on agricultural, natural and environmental sciences, this is an opportunity to systematically present its contribution to solving current global and national challenges.

In 2025, the NUBiP of Ukraine demonstrated the highest results on several sustainable development goals:
  1. Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8) — the University implements specialist training programs for the agricultural sector, civil service, environmental protection and business, creating opportunities for professional growth of graduates both in Ukraine and abroad.
  2. Peace, justice and strong institutions (SDG 16) — special attention is paid to the development of academic integrity, transparency of managerial decision-making, cooperation with public organizations and public authorities.
  3. Quality education (SDG 4) — the University provides a wide range of educational programs, supports the development of continuing education and academic mobility, and introduces modern teaching methods.
  4. Partnership for sustainable development (SDG 17) — international relations are actively developing, joint educational and scientific projects are being implemented with universities in Europe and around the world.
The university community considers participation in THE Impact Rankings as a tool for external assessment of the effectiveness of its activities in the context of performing global tasks. In particular, it concerns training for sustainable agricultural development, conservation of natural resources, support for innovation activities and the formation of scientifically based approaches to state policy in the fields of the environment, education and economy.

Participation in such ratings contributes to the growth of international recognition of the university, expansion of partnerships, involvement in joint research, as well as integration of Ukrainian higher education into the European educational and scientific space.
