Meeting of the applicants of higher education with Silpo network managers

In today's world, where technology is rapidly developing and the requirements for employee qualifications change almost daily, the importance of meetings between applicants of higher education and business representatives is becoming increasingly obvious. Such meetings not only give students the opportunity to understand how theoretical knowledge is applied in practice, but also open up new horizons for career growth and development of professional skills.
On March 4, 2025, the head of the Department of Management named after Professor J. S. Zavadskyi, Tetiana Balanovska, organized a meeting of applicants for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education of the EPP "Management" and the second (master's) level of higher education of the EPP "Management of organization and administration" in the specialty 073 "Management" with Oleh Morhun, Deputy Director for Operations, and with Yevheniia Fastovets, HR Manager of the Silpo network region. The topic of the meeting: "How HR-management is organized in Silpo". Silpo is not only a supermarket chain, but also a powerful company with many different areas that allow it to remain a leader in retail and implement innovations in the market.

 

Oleh Morhun, Deputy Director for Operations of the Silpo chain, told the applicants of higher education many interesting and useful aspects of the work of a large retail chain. During the meeting, the features of the development of various business areas within which the company operates were examined in detail, the network's broad activities in various markets and its adaptation to changing conditions were emphasized. In particular, the guest spoke about the following business areas of the Silpo chain: retail trade in food and household goods; e-commerce and online sales; development of internal culture and brand; expansion of the assortment and development of exclusive goods, and others.

  

The students learned that thanks to such diverse business lines, the Silpo chain not only maintains its leading position in the retail market, but also constantly improves its business processes, adapting to the needs of modern consumers. These aspects allowed them to see how a large company can be flexible and innovative, maintaining its competitiveness in a dynamic market.
HR Manager of the Silpo network region Yevheniia Fastovets, told the applicants of higher education many interesting aspects related to human resources management and the specifics of working in one of the largest retail chains in Ukraine. In particular, attention was focused on: the process of selecting and hiring personnel; the features of the corporate culture and values of the company; the process of training and developing personnel; the system of personnel rewards and career growth opportunities.

 

The applicants of higher education were particularly interested in the opportunity to do an internship in the Silpo network, which is an important part of supporting young talents and developing their careers in the retail sector. It was noted that the Silpo network actively supports students, providing them with the opportunity to do internships in various divisions of the company. Yevheniia Fastovets told how the internship is organized: what requirements are placed on candidates, how the selection is carried out, as well as about the stages of the internship and the tasks that can be given to students.

 

The students were extremely pleased with the meeting with representatives of the Silpo network – Oleh Morhun and Yevheniia Fastovets. The students actively participated in the discussion, asking questions and being interested in various aspects of the company's work. They not only received useful information about career opportunities, internships and corporate culture, but also had the opportunity to learn from practitioners about approaches to working with personnel, developing leadership qualities and managing a team.
