Participation of the Department of hotel and restaurant business and tourism in the Jean Monnet International Winter School

Instructors of the department of hotel and restaurant business and tourism of the TSI of continuing education and tourism of NUBiP of Ukraine as well as scientific and pedagogical workers who teach on educational programs implemented by the department on January 15-17, 2025, participated in the International Winter School of Jean Monnet «Academic project management and effective communication-2025», which was held within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Program «Policy and best practices of the European Union on academic project management», «Ecomanagement and ecocommunication in the European Union: towards a climate-neutral Europe».
Event organizers were the National University of Food Technologies with the support of the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine, the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine and the platform of European studios.
Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine Svitlana Shytikova gave a welcoming speech and provided detailed information about the Erasmus+ Program, competition directions, national priorities for Ukraine, criteria for evaluating the project application, step-by-step participation in competitions, search for partners through existing platforms and portals, involvement of government, business and other representatives to participate in the project. Students, thanks to the information provided, have the opportunity to get acquainted with reports and statistical collections on the results of previous projects, as well as with a selection of successful practices and success stories.
Within the framework of the first working day, issues related to the management of academic projects were discussed, namely, the European integration projects of the National University of food technologies of the Erasmus+ program were introduced to the participants by project coordinator Jean Monnet ProEU and EcoEurope, head of the department of ecology and eco-management of NUFT Ihor Yakymenko. The experience of applying and successfully implementing the project is useful for winter school participants who want to take part in the competitive selection of projects in 2025.
 
Anatoly Hyrych, deputy director for research at Nomad Bioscience GmbH, Halle (Germany) shared the results of project management in the biotechnological company Nomad Bioscience. Olha Horbovtsova Arterium Corporation training and development manager presented the topic «Cross-cultural interaction for successful project management». The information provided on the relationships and role of communications in business communication of partners representing cultures of different countries of the world is useful for listeners as participants in the communication process. The speech of the head of the International Relations Department of NUFT Iryna Volovyk on academic mobility opportunities for students and teachers with Grant support from the Erasmus+ program was interesting for the audience.
Within the framework of section «Effective communication for project management» (the second day of the Winter School) students had the opportunity to get acquainted with: project management of the faculty of biotechnology and environmental control of the National University of food technologies (Natalia Hrehirchak dean of the faculty, member of the Jean Monnet ProEU and EcoEurope project team); the main styles of influence for effective communication and achieving project goals (Olexandr Yakymenko, head of the school of convincing speeches); program methods of effective project management (Evgeniy Shapovalov, chief specialist of the electronic register system development department of the Ministry of Digital Development, member of the Jean Monnet ProEU and EcoEurope project team).
The third day of the International Winter School started with a presentation by project manager of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine, Jean Monnet projects coordinator and participant Petro Krainik. The speaker provided detailed information on the registration of applications for participation in competitions, criteria for the success of the application. The second part was held in the format of discussions and exchange of experience. Mr. Krainik was asked a significant number of different questions, to which the participants received detailed answers.
 
Maria Halaburda, associate professor of the Prof. A.K. Skorohodko department of animal and food hygiene shared with the audience her experience in preparing Jeanne Monet project application for the Erasmus+ program and successfully completing projects.  It is the faculty of veterinary medicine of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
