On November 7, 2024, within the framework of the Open Day at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Biochemistry named after Academician M.F. Gulyi organized a career guidance event at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. On this day, we were visited by students of the Hlevakha Academic Lyceum, Krushyn Gymnasium and School No. 132 of Kyiv.
The head of the department, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine Viktor Tomchuk together with the staff of the department (Professors Larysa Klich, Igor Kalinin, Victoria Gryshchenko, associate professors Valerii Tsvilikhovskyi and Olha Tupytska, and head of the training laboratory Viktoria Prys-Kadenko) told about the department, showed the training laboratories, lecture hall, and held an interesting master class in biochemistry, where students performed interesting laboratory reactions with their own hands and observed the results. The students were impressed by the department's equipment, the saturation of modern devices for educational and scientific work, and actively asked questions and engaged in scientific discussions.
Having visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the students learned a lot of interesting things about the connection between medicine for humans and animals, the interconnectedness of all representatives of the biota. In conclusion, I would like to thank the director of the Hlevakhiv Academic Lyceum Iryna Valeriyevna Andrykevych and the deputy director for educational work Iryna Volodymyrivna Podufala; the director of the Krushyn Gymnasium Tetyana Yurievna Kolesova and the deputy directors for educational work Oksana Ivanivna Urban and Kateryna Vasylivna Saukh and the teachers who accompanied the students Bohdan Vasylevich Urban and Zoya Alekseevna Khryapina; the director of the I-III degree school No. 132 of the city of Kyiv Mykola Ivanovich Savchenko, who organized the students for an excursion to our department and faculty, and to wish the graduating students a successful completion of their studies, passing exams and determining their future profession.
