Faculty of livestock and aquatic biological resources is strengthening relations with Turkmenistan
At the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan and on behalf of the Rector Stanislav Nikolaenko the delegation of the department of livestock and aquatic biological resources consisting of a department dean Vadym Kondratiuk, Professor of horse breeding and beekeeping department Borys Hopko, and the head of the horse breeding laboratory Hanna Skabard on April 22-25, 2015, visited the city of Ashgabat, where they took part in the events devoted to horse breeding development in the world.
On the first day the university representatives took part in the opening of a scientific-practical exhibition, where there were presented different types of equipment and products for horses and horse breeding industry as a whole. In the afternoon the 5th meeting of the International Association of Akhal-Teke horse breeding was held, at its opening the President of Turkmenistan Hurbanhuly Berdymukhamedov in his speech marked that a horse in his country is a national treasure.
On April 23, the 7th International Scientific Conference on horse breeding, where Professor Borys Hopko made a speech on "Horse breeding in Ukraine –current state and prospects of development", began its work. It should be noted that the conference was attended by over 500 participants from more than 50 countries.
On April 24, Vadym Kondratiuk, the department Dean, met with the head of the Department of International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan Saparov Kerim, where they agreed on short-term exchange of students to undertake the industrial training on equal terms. Also there was a meeting with the head of the Association of horse breeding of Turkmenistan, where the agreement was achieved on including the chair of horse breeding into the World Horse Breeding Association and giving it all preferences as a full representative of Ukraine. An important achievement of the meeting is agreement on the involvement of the head of the horse breeding laboratory, the world class judge Hanna Skabard in the team of judges by the competition at the Asian Sports Games in 2017, which will be held in Turkmenistan.
During the visit the department representatives visited some of the best racetracks of the country where the different types of races under the auspices of the President of Turkmenistan were held.
