Participation of the representatives of the Training Scientific Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture and REEFMC in the international conference "Frontiers in environmental management and water resources"
On March 19-21, 2015, the delegation of Training Scientific Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture took part in the international conference "Frontiers in environmental management and water resources." The delegation included the Director of FLA TSI Lakyda P.I., Professor of Forestry Department, Director of Regional East European Monitoring Centre of Wildfires, Zibtsev S.V., deputy director of FLA TSI, Myronyuk V.V., Forestry Department postgraduate Borsuk A.A., Forestry Department postgraduate, Humeniuk V.V. and the representative of the Laboratory of quality and safety of AIC of Ukraine, Los O.I. The conference examined the important issues of the Black Sea region: improving the protection of forests from wildfires, erosion control, water management. Ukrainian delegation made presentations specifically for the conference on the following topics: "Development of the integrated management system for forest wildfires in Yalta mountain-forest Nature Reserve" and "Management of forest wildfires in the radionuclide-contaminated areas: key research on the example of Chernobyl exclusion zone." The conference also presented a poster entitled "The impact of large 2009 forest wildfire on sustainability and biodiversity of Polissia forests Nature Reserve." This conference was part of the international project "Application of natural watercourses for fighting forest wildfires, incorporating the latest technology", one of its participants being NULES of Ukraine.
