 "BIOCHEMISTRY OF HYDROBIONTS" for 2022

One of the main directions of the formation of a high-quality level of education that meets the needs of future specialists in intellectual and professional development is the involvement of students in research work.
Research work of students is one of the important and necessary components of the training of highly qualified specialists.
At the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology named after Acad. M.F. The group "Biochemistry of hydrobionts" is active in Gulo. 10 students of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources and the Faculty of Food Technologies and Quality Management of Agricultural Products are engaged in the group
The main tasks of our group are:
- ensuring the assimilation of the system of knowledge about the regularities of transformations of chemical substances in the body, physico-chemical bases of the life processes of hydrobionts;
- to ensure familiarity with modern methods of biochemical research of aquatic inhabitants,
- to develop skills in working with laboratory equipment, to be able to present creative works by means of information and communication technologies,
- understand and use information from various sources.
- to develop logical thinking, inclination to independent research activities in the field of biochemistry of hydrobionts.
Determining the level of development of the competences of Gurtkiv residents is carried out in the form of interviews, testing of topics covered, presentation of creative works, participation in intellectual competitions, preparation of a portfolio of creative achievements.
According to the work plan of the research group "Biochemistry of hydrobionts", the tasks were completed:
Preparation of material for biochemical research:
- tissue sampling from hydrobionts; studying the rules of blood and serum research in the laboratory, the peculiarities of laboratory research of whole blood and plasma.
- obtaining plasma, blood serum and protein-free filtrate.
- determination of indicators of carbohydrate metabolism in the liver, muscles, heart, and blood of fish: glycogen, glucose, pyruvate, lactate when fish are kept in water with the addition of sewage from pig farms.
- determination of indicators of nitrogen metabolism in the liver, muscles, heart, and blood of fish under the influence of sulfonamide drugs.
- determination of the content of mineral substances in the liver, muscles, and blood of fish under the influence of sulfonamide drugs.
- making presentations and preparing reports for student conferences.
On October 29-31, 2022, members of the scientific group "Biochemistry of Hydrobionts" took part in the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "MODERN RESEARCH IN WORLD SCIENCE" and the IX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Ecological and Regional Problems of Modern Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine". Their works were published in the collections of materials of the conference under the leadership of Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology of Animals named after Acad. M.F. Guly Olga Tupytska.
Students of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources and the Faculty of Food Technologies and Product Quality Management of the APC Borshch Marina, Batig Maria, Piskun Kristina Legkobyt Anastasia, Yarchenya Bohdan prepared abstracts of reports. Everyone chose the direction of the conference that most corresponded to the interests of the residents of Gurtkov. Works were submitted to the sections "Quality and safety of livestock raw materials and products" and "Biological sciences".
All members of the scientific group "Biochemistry of hydrobionts" received certificates of participation in the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "MODERN RESEARCH IN WORLD SCIENCE".
Abstracts of reports on the III International Scientific and Practical Conference SCIENTIFIC PROGRESS: INNOVATIONS, ACHIEVEMENTS AND PROSPECTS and the XVI International Scientific and Practical Conference MODERN SCIENCE: INNOVATIONS AND PROSPECTS by students Sofia Sharandak, Yatsuk Oleksandr, Sofia Lalich are being prepared for publication, which will be published in December 2022.
Members of the "Biochemistry of Hydrobionts" group work in the classroom, scientific laboratory and online, understanding that only systematic work helps to deepen and consolidate theoretical knowledge, as well as prepare for future independent research work. Research skills and abilities are invaluable for a future specialist and are one of the key components of his professional success.
