Student scientific group "Forest Pathology"
The group consist from 1st and 2nd year master students of the Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, enrolled in the Master's program "Protection of forests". An elder of the group - I. Riabokon. A leader of the group - associate professor L. Reshetnyk.
The scientific work of the group’s members. Members of the group annually submit abstracts on topics chosen by them to participate in conferences and seminars.
Researches of the group’s members. On April 11, 2016 members of the group led by a head conducted research on protection of Aesculus hippocastanum trees (Aesculus hippocastanum) against Cameraria ohridella. For the research a tree with 23,5m height and 36 cm diameter was chosen. The concentration of the active ingredient was 0.75 mg. Cellulose cartridge was soak with prepared mixture, then introduced inside the tree trunk and glued up with a glue - sealant for infection preventing.
The results of the research planned to derive in June - July this year.
With the creation of programs such as 123 Catch, Augment and Meshmixer it became possible to create and view 3D models on personal electronic gadgets, what is an excellent platform for studying structural features of fungi. Currently, members of the group study already existing publicly available models (images 7,8) and working to create their own.
