Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Science welcomes cooperation with NUBiP foresters
Germany is one of the leading countries in Europe in the field of forestry and hunting with centuries of fruitful experience and well-established traditions. In order to strengthen cooperation between NUBiP of Ukraine and the Department of Forestry of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, the head of the Department of Forest Taxation and Forest Management of NUBiP of Ukraine, Prof. Andriy Bilous paid an official visit to German counterparts.
During the visit, Prof. Andriy Bilous met with the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Prof. Carsten Lorz, Dean of the Department of Forestry, Prof. Andreas Rothe and the Head of the Center for Coordination of Scientific Projects, Prof. Markus Reinke. The meetings were devoted to the development of joint research projects, academic mobility programs for students and teachers, conducting joint student workshops and expeditions.
Special attention was paid to conducting joint research to adapt forest ecosystems to climate change, reshape forests, ensure biodiversity, monitor forest resources and digitize forestry.
As Freising (Bavaria) houses not only Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences but also the Technical University of Munich and the state forestry authorities, Andriy Bilous also had the opportunity to meet with the Head of the Forestry Center, Dr. Marcus Schaller, who is the co-coordinator of all three institutions.
