As part of the Erasmus + program, Associate Professor of the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Chemistry of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland) Andrzej Zolnowski visited Professor Mykola P. Dyadechko Department of Entomology of the Faculty of Plant Protection, Biotechnology and Ecology of NUBiP of Ukraine.
Andrzej and Beata Zolnowski took part in the international workshop “Agriculture and growing biofuel crops in conditions of anthropogenic pollution”, held at the Department. Andrzej Zolnowski made a report on behalf of himself and two Polish colleagues, Myroslav Wyszkowski and Elżbieta Rolka, who joined the workshop online. The workshop was attended by scientists from Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, the United States of America and Kazakhstan. The participants of the workshop got acquainted with phytotechnologies of biomass production of food and energy crops in contaminated areas and identified strategic directions of international cooperation in the field of research and innovation.
During the visit, Andrzej Zolnowski delivered three lectures and conducted a practical class for the students majoring in 202 “Plant Protection and Quarantine” and 162 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering”. The students listened to lectures with great interest and asked many questions, some of which concerned participating in the Erasmus + program. Andrzej Zolnowski was positively impressed by the high level of English language skills of NUBiP students, as well as their thorough knowledge and motivation.
At the invitation of the Head of the Department of Ecobiotechnology and Biodiversity, Associate Professor Olena Kvasko, Andrzej and Beata Zolnowski visited the Education and Research Laboratory of Biotechnology and Cell Engineering of the Faculty of Plant Protection, Biotechnology and Ecology. Olena Kvasko acquainted the guests with the educational process and presented main areas of research.

In 2019, Tetyana Stefanovska visited the Department of Entomology, Phytopathology and Molecular Diagnostics within the Erasmus + program. During the meeting with the Head of the Department of Entomology, Phytopathology and Molecular Diagnostics, Professor Bozhena Kordan, it was agreed to hold a joint scientific conference “Control of the amount of pests in the cultivation of biofuels in phytotechnology”. The conference was scheduled for April 2020, but had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The participants discussed a number of educational issues related to the development of cooperation between the universities.
