Visit to CLAAS Company
On January 22, the head of Educational and Research Centre for International Activities, A.V. Bobrovytskyy, visited the main office, the Academy and the training ground of CLAAS Company to examine the process of manufacturing of grain-harvesting and fodder-harvesting combines and tractors having 220 – 400 EHP. Also, he paid attention to training of specialists in maintenance of equipment, manufactured by the company.
Mr Bobrovytskyy together with the head of the company in Ukraine, Thomas Klausnitzer, discussed the possibility of establishing a joint training centre on the basis of one of the teaching and research farms of NUBiP of Ukraine. Partners from Germany particularly emphasized that the main operation and maintenance problem of harvesting equipment in Ukraine is the lack of skilled operators, service engineers and service mechanics. Considering the fact that the company sells our country more than 400 pieces of equipment annually, the need of operators can reach up to 800 people while that of mechanics and service engineers up to 150-200 people. What is more, much attention is paid to the retraining courses that allow keeping high skills level of dealer representatives and owners of vehicles. Main interest of CLAAS Company is to create such a centre in Ukraine. Even today it is ready to share training programs and conduct training of instructors from among the representatives of our university. Moreover, the company is ready to consider the request of the university to purchase equipment under lease.
The visit also imparted the participants with the possibility to negotiate with the head of CLAAS Academy, Mr Herald Kalsendon. The main issue discussed was the possibility of establishing a joint training and production centre for Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The quintessential idea of the company is not simple selling, but adding to the product training courses for managers and operators. This area is interesting and promising for the university because having all necessary instructions allows increasing economic efficiency of CLAAS technologies. The Academy is ready to discuss improving of vehicle efficiency in cooperation with the NUBiP of Ukraine.
