Valerii Tsvilikhovskyi was born on January 28, 1973. In 1996 he graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National Agrarian University (now the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine). He specializes in veterinary medicine.
In 2001, he graduated from the postgraduate department at the National Agrarian University and defended his PhD thesis on “Features of the lipid composition of plasma membranes of small intestinal enterocytes of the speckled gopher in states of active life and hibernation” in the specialty 03.00.04 - biochemistry.
The main scientific results of Associate Professor Valerii Tsvilikhovsky were obtained in the following areas: study of lipid composition and lipid/protein ratio of plasma membranes of small intestine enterocytes, liver, kidney, brain, heart and muscles of speckled gopher in states of active life, awakening and hibernation (hypobiosis); study of lipid composition in liver, brain, white rat tissues under conditions of artificial hypobiosis; methodological developments for the determination of pesticide and mycotoxin residues in feed and food raw materials; monitoring studies of pesticide and mycotoxin residues in feed, food raw materials, water, and soil; study of the lipid spectrum of blood and quail organ tissues under the background content of ochratoxin A in feed.
V.I. Tsvilikhovsky has been working at the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology named after Academician M.F. Gulyi of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine since 2001 in the following positions: junior researcher 2001-2003; assistant 2003-2006; associate professor since 2006.
