Training activity

       The Department of Hydrobiology and Ichthyology provides practical training in the main, basic disciplines - hydrobiology and ichthyology.

It is provided for by the curriculum for first and second year students of the full-time Bachelor's degree program.

1st year students at the hydrobiological practice of the NUBiP of Ukraine Nemishaevsky State Agricultural University

The research covered the reservoirs of the NNVL fish farming of the NUBiP of Ukraine "Nemishaevsky State Agricultural University" and the reservoirs of the Holosiivskyi Natural Park.

Students travel to reservoirs, collect hydrobiological and ichthyological material, process samples. In the future, the results of the research are used to prepare scientific reports at conferences and complete graduation theses.

For students to undergo educational and industrial practices, collect materials for course and diploma works, the department also uses the experimental base of the Bila Tserkva Ichthyological Station and the aquarium complex of the Institute of Hydrobiology of the NAS of Ukraine on the basis of the Agreement on Creative Cooperation between the NUBiP of Ukraine and the IGB of the NAS of Ukraine.

The Bila Tserkva Ichthyological Station houses a herd of white and black grass carp, white silver carp, work is underway on the artificial reproduction of carp and fish of the Far Eastern faunal complex, new technologies for the use of anti-stress and biologically active substances in fish farming to increase the viability of fish and increase fish productivity of reservoirs are being developed.

During the production (technological) practice of students in fish farms of Ukraine, they are tasked with researching and establishing the patterns of development of the main ecological groups of hydrobionts that make up the natural food base of fish and developing recommendations for improving methods for stimulating its development; master the technologies of breeding and growing various species of fish.

Some students are invited to undergo internships in the offices of the State Fish Protection Service in Kyiv, Volyn, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zaporizhia and other regions of Ukraine. Students go on raids, help detect and stop violations on water bodies, master the rules for drawing up administrative protocols.
