Zhurenko Olena - Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine.
After graduating from high school in 1989, worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Pharmacology and Pathophysiology of Animals of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy. In 1990, she entered the Veterinary Faculty of this university, which she graduated with honors in 1995 and received the qualification of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and in 1997 - a master's degree in the specialty "Veterinary Medicine". She began teaching in 1995.
In 1995-2007, she worked as an assistant at the Department of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Animal Immunology at the National Agrarian University. She defended her candidate's dissertation on the topic : "Clinical manifestations and morpho-functional changes in animals’ bodies during the modeling of setariasis" in the specialty 16.00.11 - parasitology, helminthology in 2007.
In 2009, she received the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Animal Immunology.
From 2009 to 2017, Associate Professor of the Department of Animal Physiology, Pathophysiology and Immunology at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
From December 2017 to 30/06/2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology named after Academician M. F. Huly.
In 2020, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Cortico Vegetative regulation of mineral metabolism in the cows’ bodies and its correction" in the specialty 03.00.13 "Human and animal physiology".
From 2009 to 2012, she was the scientific secretary of the Problem Scientific Council of the Research Institute of Animal Health.
From 2010 to 2015, she was the deputy executive secretary of the Scientific Bulletin of NULES of Ukraine, series “Veterinary Medicine, Quality and Safety of Livestock Products”.
From 2014 to 2021, she was the scientific secretary of the specialized scientific council D 26.004.14.
Zhurenko O. V. is a member of the Ukrainian Physiological Society named after P. G. Kostyuk, the Association of Veterinary Physiologists of Ukraine, a member of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of NULES of Ukraine, deputy director of the Research Institute of Animal Health, a member of the Bioethical Commission of NUBiP of Ukraine.
In 2021, she was elected as an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education Sciences of Ukraine.
Since July 1, 2024, head of the Department of Vertebrate Physiology and Pharmacology.
She is the author of more than 300 scientific and educational- methodological works, including 17 patents of Ukraine for inventions and utility models, copyright certificates, technical conditions, 5 monographs, 5 textbooks and manuals approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
For her conscientious work, Zhurenko O. V. was awarded the Certificates of Honor of the NULES of Ukraine “For Services to the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine” (2010, 2020), Gratitude from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Jubilee Award “100 Years of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the NULES of Ukraine” (2020).

Valentyn Karpovskyi is a well-known scientist in the field of animal physiology and pathophysiology. He was born on June 28, 1955 in Bershad, Vinnytsia Oblast. After graduating from the Haisyn Medical School and serving in the Baltic Fleet, he entered the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy, where he graduated with honors in 1982 and received a degree in veterinary medicine. He defended his PhD thesis in 1994 on the topic: “Metabolic pathology under chronic nitrate poisoning in cattle and methods of its prevention” in the specialties 16.00.02 –pathology, oncology and morphology of animals and 16.00.04 – veterinary pharmacology with toxicology. The scientific adviser is Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine H. Khmelnytskyi. He was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor at the Department of Normal and Pathological Physiology in 1995. He defended his doctoral thesis in 2011 on the topic: “Types of higher nervous activity of cattle and the nature of adaptive reactions to external stimuli” in the specialties 16.00.02 – pathology, oncology and morphology of animals and 03.00.13 – human and animal physiology. Scientific adviser – Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine A. Mazurkevych. He was awarded the academic title of Professor at the Department of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Immunology of Animals in 2013. In 2012, he was awarded the S.Z. Grzyckyi Prize and elected an academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine.
From 1982 to 1994, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacology and Pathophysiology of the Ukrainian State Agricultural University. Since 1995, he has worked as an Associate Professor of the Department of Normal and Pathological Physiology and simultaneously served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In October 2001, V. I. Karpovskyi was elected to the position of the Head of the Department of Animal Physiology, and from June 2007 to December 2017 he was the Head of the Department of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Immunology of Animals at the National University of Life Sciences of Ukraine. During the same period, he worked as Deputy Dean and then Dean of the Faculty of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products. Since December 2017 – Professor of the Department of Animal Biochemistry and Physiology named after Academician M.F. Gulyi, Professor of the Department of Vertebrate Physiology and Pharmacology to the present time. Karpovsky V. I. gives a course of lectures and conducts laboratory classes in the discipline “Animal Physiology” for students of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Veterinary Medicine, Hygiene, Sanitation and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise, Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products at a high scientific and methodological level. He initiated the creation of new disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Neurophysiology with the basics of Zoopsychology and Comparative Animal Physiology.
Professor Karpovsky's primary focus is on scientific research. He consistently oversees the execution of state budget projects: “To investigate the participation of individual organs and systems of the animal body in the formation of adaptation and compensatory reactions under the influence of environmental factors”, “To study the features of neuroendocrine regulation of physiological functions of the body of productive animals under the influence of anthropogenic environmental factors”, “To study the central regulatory mechanisms of formation of reactivity, resistance and productivity of farm animals and to develop ways of their physiological correction”, “To study the mechanisms of regulation of physiological functions and to develop methods of their correction”. Prof. V. I. Karpovskyi plays an active role as a member of the editorial boards of several professional scientific journals: “Ukrainian Journal of Veterinary Sciences”, “Scientific Bulletin of the Black Sea Region”, “Scientific Reports of NUBiP of Ukraine”, “Animal Husbandry of Ukraine”. He is a member of the Central Council of the Ukrainian Physiological Society named after P. Kostiuk, member of the Association of Veterinary Pathologists of Ukraine and President of the Association of Animal Physiologists of Higher Educational and Scientific Institutions of Ukraine of Agricultural Profile. Professor Karpovskyi is the author of 470 scientific and educational works, including 34 patents for inventions and utility models, 17 monographs, 11 textbooks and manuals with the stamp of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Curricula have been developed: Physiology of Farm Animals and Animal Physiology.
Professor V. I. Karpovskyi is the founder of the scientific school “Cortico-vegetative mechanisms of regulation of physiological functions in animals”. Under his supervision, 13 PhD, 2 MD, 5 doctoral theses and 24 master's theses were defended. Currently, he is a consultant for one doctoral thesis and a supervisor for 4 postgraduate students, a member of specialized scientific councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral theses at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S. Z. Gzhytskyi.
Valentyn Karpovskyi constantly improves his scientific and pedagogical level at the advanced training courses for teachers in the discipline “Animal Physiology”, actively participates in scientific, scientific and industrial conferences and congresses as not only a participant but also an organizer. In order to study the latest means for treatment and prevention of animal diseases, screening of biologically active substances, Professor Karpovskyi created a research center for testing veterinary drugs and feed additives.
During the period of his scientific and pedagogical activity, Professor Karpovskyi was awarded labor awards: Diplomas of NUBiP of Ukraine (2005, 2010, 2015, and 2017), medal “For cooperation with the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine” (2004), medals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: Bogomolets (2016, 2019), St. Volodymyr (2018), Yaroslav the Wise (2020), Order of Yaroslav the Wise (2021).
His area of research is physiology and pathology of higher nervous activity and adaptation.

Dukhnytskyi Volodymyr Bogdanovych is a scientist in the field of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology. Born on March 12, 1959. Graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (Kyiv) in 1983.
He defended his candidate's thesis on the topic "Methods of diagnosis, therapy and prevention of poisoning of cattle with nitrates" in 1991.
He defended his doctoral thesis on the topic "T-2 animal toxicosis (pathogenesis, diagnostics, treatment, prevention)" in 2006.
He began his scientific and pedagogical activity in 1990 as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacology and Pathophysiology. In 1993-1998 he was appointed (part-time) to the position of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In 1994 he was elected to the position of Associate Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He received the academic title of Associate Professor in 1995. In 2006 he was transferred to the position of Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He received the academic title of Professor in 2012.
In the period 2006 - 2008 he was Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National University of Life Sciences of Ukraine. In 2008 he was transferred to the position of Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2010 he was elected to the position of Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, which he headed until 2020.
From 2020 to 2024 Professor of the Department of Pharmacology, Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine, and from 1.07. 2024 - Professor of the Department of Vertebrate Physiology and Pharmacology.
Author of 4 textbooks - “Veterinary Toxicology, 2012, 2022”, “Military Veterinary Radiobiology and Toxicology, 2015”, “Veterinary Pharmacology, 2017”; 9 textbooks, including “Practical Course on Veterinary Drug Technology, 2011”, “Veterinary Mycotoxicology, 2011, 2015”, “Veterinary Pharmacology. A Course of Lectures, 2019”, “Handbook of Veterinary Pharmacology, 2020”, “Veterinary Formulation, 2023”, “Clinical Veterinary Toxicology, 2024”, etc.
He has about 300 scientific and scientific-methodical works, including 7 monographs, technical conditions and 20 patents. He has prepared a Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, a Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Medicine and three Candidates of Veterinary Sciences.
For many years of conscientious work, a significant contribution to the development of national education and science, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2008), the Certificate of Honor “For Special Merits to the National University of Bioresources and Life Sciences of Ukraine” (2009, 2019), the Certificate of Honor of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2019). The honorary title “Honored Scientific and Pedagogical Employee of NUBiP of Ukraine” was awarded in 2022.
Research interests: animal poisoning by nitrates and nitrites, pesticides, animal mycotoxicoses, pharmacological properties of nonsteroidal anti-fever drugs, antibiotics, iron chelate compounds, organization of science and education.

Iryna Derkach is a scientist in the field of veterinary pharmacology, toxicology, virology and epizoology. After graduating with honors from the National Agrarian University in 2006 and having obtained the qualification of a doctor of veterinary medicine, the beginning of scientific activity was postgraduate study at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. The results of scientific research conducted by a graduate student under the guidance of Academician of the Academy of Sciences, d. Vet. n., professor V. P. Romanenko during 2006–2009 were the basis of a candidate's thesis on the topic "Genetic properties of porcine enteroviruses and their correlation with serotype belonging" in specialty 16.00.03 - veterinary microbiology, epizootology, infectious diseases and immunology.
Experience and places of work stages of professional activity include the following periods: the defense of a dissertation for obtaining the scientific degree of Candidate of Veterinary Sciences in 2009; a researcher at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences during 2009-2012; a senior researcher, head of the sector of risk assessment and forecasting of the State Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary-Sanitary Examination during 2012-2013; a scientific and pedagogical employee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine since 2013. The academic title of associate professor of the department of pharmacology, parasitology and tropical veterinary medicine was awarded in 2021. 
She defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "Scientific and experimental substantiation of the pharmacological activity of Ferrum(IV)" in 2023. Scientific consultant is professor, V.B. Dukhnytskyi. The academic title of professor of the department of pharmacology, parasitology and tropical veterinary medicine was awarded in 2024.
Educational activity: teaches disciplines "Veterinary pharmacology", "Pharmacology", "Veterinary pharmacology", "Veterinary toxicology", "Veterinary and pharmaceutical commodity science"; author of electronic training courses in the disciplines "Veterinary pharmacology", "Pharmacology", "Veterinary pharmacology", "Veterinary toxicology", "Drugs and poisonous substances", "Antibiotic resistance and rational antibiotic therapy"; main teaching and methodical publications: 7 teaching aids, more than 25 methodical instructions.

Iryna Mykhaylivna is awarded the certificate of honor "For services to the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine", 2015; Thanks from the Mayor of Kyiv, 2020. She is the secretary of the Educational and Methodical Council and the Clinical Council of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, a member of the Scientific Council and a member of the Expert Commission of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, responsible for "Donor Day" from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, responsible for the website of the Department.

After graduating from the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and completing the Pedagogical Faculty with a specialization as a teacher of zoo-veterinary and agricultural technical schools, she worked as a lecturer in pharmacology at the Tulchyn Veterinary College from 1984 to 1995.
Upon completing her postgraduate studies at the National Agrarian University in 2002, she was appointed as an assistant at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
In 2005, she earned the degree of Candidate of Veterinary Sciences after defending her dissertation on “Pathogenesis, Diagnosis, and Prevention of Animal Poisoning by Black Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger)” before the Specialized Academic Council of the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine of the UAAS in the field of veterinary pharmacology and toxicology (specialty 16.00.04).
In 2007, she was promoted to the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2013, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the same department.
She has worked on the development of methodological materials for master’s programs, participated in scientific research aligned with the department’s thematic focus, and co-authored curricula for courses including:

Hryhorii Vasylovych Boiko graduated with honors from the Poltava State Agricultural Institute in 1998 with a degree in "Veterinary Medicine." From 1998 to 2001, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology under the supervision of Academician H.O. Khmelnytskyi. In 2004, he defended his PhD dissertation in the specialty 16.00.04 – Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Since October 2001, he has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, holding positions as a research associate, assistant (2001–2003), and associate professor (since 2007). He served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from 2004 to 2006 and again from 2012 to 2015.
Since 2008, he has been a member of the Educational and Methodological Center of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, contributing to the development of recommendations, educational plans, and standardized programs. In 2015, he was appointed Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Continuing Education of Veterinary Professionals. Since 2021, he has been an expert at the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.
He teaches core courses of the department, including "Veterinary Pharmacology" and "Veterinary Toxicology," as well as elective courses such as "Medicinal Plants in Veterinary Medicine," "Preclinical and Clinical Studies of Medicines," and "Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy." He is the head of the student research group "Veterinary Toxicology."
Hryhorii Boiko is the author and co-author of over 170 scientific and educational-methodological publications, 11 electronic courses, video lectures on "Veterinary Pharmacology" and "Veterinary Toxicology," as well as one textbook and nine teaching manuals.

Dmytro Kryvoruchko was born on August 14, 1977 in the city of Fastiv, Kyiv region. After graduating from the Kyiv Medical School, he entered the National Agrarian University, which he graduated with honors in 2004 and received the qualification of Master of Veterinary Medicine. He defended his PhD thesis in 2009 on the topic: "The participation of the mammary gland of cows of different types of higher nervous activity in protein metabolism during lactation" in the specialty 03.00.13 - human and animal physiology, scientific supervisor Professor V. Karpovskyi. The academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of physiology, pathophysiology and immunology of animals was awarded in 2013.
From 2004 to 2005, he worked as an assistant at the Department of physiology, pathophysiology and immunology of animals of the National Agrarian University. Since 2009 until 2012 he worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of Physiology, pathophysiology and immunology of animals. Since 2013 - as an associate professor at the Department of Physiology, pathophysiology and immunology of animals; since December 2017 - associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry and physiology of animals named after academician M. F. Huly; since July 2024 - associate professor at the Department of Vertebrate physiology and pharmacology of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
He is the author of more than 150 scientific and educational and methodological works, including 16 patents, 6 monographs, 6 textbooks and manuals with the seal of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Dmytro Kryvoruchko performs the duties of the scientific secretary of the specialized scientific council D 26.004.03 and the secretary of the department. He is a member of the Clinical Council of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the NUBiP of Ukraine.

In 1994, he graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the National Agrarian University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
In 2009, he obtained a Master's degree and the qualification of a veterinary doctor at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. He defended his candidate’s dissertation in 2017 in the specialty 16.00.11 – Parasitology, on the topic "Cryptosporidiosis in Cattle (Prevalence, Diagnosis, Control Measures)." His scientific advisor was Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, N. M. Soroka.
From 2019 to 2024, he worked as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry and Animal Physiology named after Academician M. F. Huliy.
In 2024, he became an Associate Professor at the Department of Vertebrate Physiology and Pharmacology.
Zhurenko V. V. teaches "Animal Physiology" for Master’s students specializing in "Veterinary Medicine" at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and "Physiology of Agricultural Animals" at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources at a high educational and methodological level.
He actively participates in organizing and conducting scientific and practical national and international conferences in the field of human and animal physiology and combines teaching, educational, and public activities at the department, as well as engaging in community work.
On a voluntary basis, he works as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Economic Activities. Zhurenko V. V. is the author of more than 60 scientific and scientific-methodological publications.
Awarded with Certificates of Honor for his contributions to the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, a Gratitude from the Kyiv Mayor for many years of conscientious work and significant contributions to the development of education and science, and a Jubilee Award "100 Years of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of NULES of Ukraine" (2020).

Lyudmyla R. Ishchenko

Lyudmyla Ishchenko was born in 1982 in the Ternopil region, Ukraine. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the National Agrarian University in 2004. In 2007, she commenced a postgraduate program at the Department of Animal Biochemistry, Quality, and Safety of Agricultural Products. In 2016, she successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled "Lipids in the blood of ruminants during spontaneous and experimental bovine leukemia, and molecular genetic identification of the bovine leukemia virus.".
Since 2005, she has been working in the Department of Molecular biology at Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products, and since May 2015, she has been the head of this department.

Ishchenko is the author of over 100 scientific papers, including one book for students, four monographs, 56 articles (15 of which are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science), six patents, five scientific-methodological recommendations, nine nucleotide sequences of the gene ENV of bovine leukemia virus genome, and two full-genome nucleotide sequences of the African swine fever virus deposited in the GenBank international database.
She has completed numerous internships at foreign educational and research institutions, including the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, the Friedrich Loeffler Institute, and the National Veterinary Institute in Puławy. In 2018, she completed a food safety training course organized by Pennsylvania State University (USA) at NULES of Ukraine. She worked for two years as a researcher at the Friedrich Loeffler Institute in the Department of Transboundary Animal Diseases and One Health (Germany).
L. Ishchenko serves as an independent technical expert of the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine, in molecular, serological, and microbiological research methods.
At the Department of Vertebrate Physiology and Pharmacology, she holds the courses «Veterinary Pharmacology» and «Antimicrobial Resistance and Rational Antibiotic Therapy» for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Her scientific research interests include zoonotic infections, antimicrobial resistance in wildlife, and implementing the One Health approach in surveillance systems for zoonotic infections and antimicrobial resistance.
