Education

Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Animal Engineering of the Odessa Agricultural Institute (1985), zootechnician of the collective farm “Peremoha” of the Cherkasy region (1985–1986), postgraduate student of the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry of Farm Animals of the Odessa Agricultural Institute (1986–1990), research fellow of the Odessa Research Station (1992), senior research fellow at the Department of Milk and Beef Production Technology of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy. Since 1995 – assistant, and since 2003 – associate professor of the Department of Poultry Farming of the National Agricultural University.

Author of 243 scientific and methodological works. Co-author of 3 monographs and one textbook. Deputy editor-in-chief of the journal “Modern Poultry Farming”. Under the leadership of V.V. Melnyk, 168 students of various educational degrees (“Bachelor”, “Specialist” and “Master”) defended their graduation theses.

Scientific interests

Scientific work is aimed at developing methods to increase the realization of the genetic potential of egg-laying crossbred chickens and technological methods to increase the productivity of quails of various breeds.
