У 1988 році закінчила факультет захисту рослин Української сільськогосподарської академії за спеціальністю «захист рослин».
У 1992-1996 рр. навчалася без відриву від виробництва в аспірантурі Національного аграрного університету. Захистила дисертацію за спеціальністю 03.00.12 – фізіологія рослин за темою «Регенераційна здатність рослин картоплі за дії абіотичних чинників у культурі in vitro та ex vitro» і здобула науковий ступінь кандидата біологічних наук.
She defended her dissertation in the field of 03.00.12—plant physiology—on the topic “The Regenerative Capacity of Potato Plants Under the Influence of Abiotic Factors in In Vitro and Ex Vitro Cultures” and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences.
Research interests: physiological and biochemical reactions of plants during pathogenesis, particularly during viral infection and under in vitro culture conditions; the effect of abiotic factors on plant physiological reactions; viral infections of agricultural plants; molecular biology and epidemiology of plant viruses, diagnosis and identification of plant viral infections; development and creation of instrumental approaches, including biosensor systems for the diagnosis and identification of viral infections in plants and animals, monitoring of biotechnological production, and assessment of the overall toxicity of environmental objects.
She completed a professional development program in “Immunodiagnostics, Virus Identification, and Potato Seed Production” at the Biologische Bundesanstalt für Land- und Forstwirtschaft (BBA) (Braunschweig, Germany) and the Landwirtschaftskammer Hannover Pflanzenschutzamt (Hanover, Germany).
Co-author of 6 Ukrainian utility model patents and author of more than 40 scientific publications. Co-author of the monographs “Viral Infections of Potatoes and Their Progression Under Simulated Microgravity Conditions” [L. T. Mishchenko, O. P. Taran, O. I. Gordeychik, V. P. Polishchuk] and “Nanomaterials: Properties and Prospects for Their Practical Application” [M. V. Savchuk, O. P. Taran, M. F. Starodub].
