Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Biotechnology and Cell Engineering
The Laboratory of Biotechnology and Cell Engineering is a structural unit of the Department of Ecobiotechnology and Biodiversity. The laboratory operates in accordance with the structure of the Institute approved by the Rector's Order No. 4 dated January 9, 1998, and is located in the educational building №4 (basement).
The main areas of activity of the NNL of Biotechnology and Cell Engineering are:

conducting scientific research in the field of biotechnology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and cell engineering in accordance with the priority areas of science and technology development defined by the relevant laws of Ukraine for a specific period;

performing scientific and methodological work – mastering modern methods and improving generally accepted methods for setting up and conducting scientific research;
-
research on the problems of secondary plant metabolism, genotyping, optimization of microclonal propagation processes of valuable crops, research on plant-microbial interactions, diversity of the microbial metagenome, agronomically valuable strains of microorganisms, structural and spatial functional role of DNA in organisms;

implementation of the results of (own) scientific research in the educational process and in the production practice of the agricultural and environmental spheres;

publication of the results of the laboratory's activities in scientific publications in Ukraine and abroad;

involvement of leading scientists in the field in solving the tasks set before the laboratory;

cooperation with scientific institutions of Ukraine in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the scientific process, exchange of experience, joint use of laboratory (science-intensive) equipment, unique devices, etc.;

ensuring the implementation of works on budgetary scientific topics.
The tasks of the laboratory are:

to assist scientific and pedagogical staff of the department in implementing the plan of scientific research, scientific and methodological, and educational work;

to prepare educational and scientific and methodological developments, taking into account innovative methods of teaching disciplines assigned to the department;

to unite the efforts of scientific and pedagogical and scientific workers, scientific and technical personnel, students and listeners of the University to carry out scientific research in the field of biotechnology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and cell engineering in accordance with the priority areas of science and technology development defined by the relevant laws of Ukraine for a specific period;

assisting students in mastering the theory and practice of relevant disciplines, as well as in their independent work with scientific and scientific-methodological literature.
At the educational and scientific laboratory of biotechnology and cell engineering, students and graduate students complete the molecular biology sections of their master's theses.
The laboratory is equipped with the devices and instruments necessary for preparing master's theses and conducting scientific research. Students, graduate students, and university staff have the opportunity to work and conduct research related to in vitro culture. The laboratory has a collection of plants in in vitro culture, which includes about 40 different species and varieties, among which are representatives of berry, ornamental, technical, and exotic plants.
Postgraduate students, young scientists, and master's students have access to the EVASFL visualization system, AG 22331 microcentrifuge vortex mixer, SE-1 mini electrophoresis chamber, EcoScan pH5 Eutech pH meters, TS-80M electric thermostats, transilluminators, UMTP-5 ultramicrotome, a sled microtome, an IR spectrophotometer, MiniSpinEppendorf and VAC-601 centrifuges, an autoclave, a BioRad automatic plate washer, a Tercyk DNA amplifier with display, and Radwag electronic scales.
