Participation of university teachers in discussing the results of the project "English for Universities" under the auspices of the British Council in Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

 On September 28, 2017, representatives of the departments of the Romanic and Germanic languages and translation, English philology and English for technical and agribiological specialties attended the event dedicated to the presentation of the publication "Internationalization of Ukrainian Universities in the English Language" and discussion of the results of the study of the state of teaching English and professional disciplines in English. in Ukrainian universities conducted by the British Council in Ukraine within the framework of the project "English for Universities". Presentation of the publication was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Roman Greby and the director of the British Council and the Department of Culture of the British Embassy in Ukraine Simon Williams.

Within the framework of the project "English for universities", the team of the British Council in Ukraine for three years cooperated with Ukrainian higher education institutions, monitored the quality of teaching English in Ukrainian higher education institutions. The results of the study were presented in the form of a publication, which also contains a list of recommendations that will help educational institutions significantly improve the quality of teaching. Representatives of 39 higher educational institutions of Ukraine had an opportunity to take part in the discussion on the state of teaching English and professional subjects in English in Ukrainian universities.

 

The project aims to raise the level of English among teachers and students, as well to broaden international contacts and attract foreigners to join Ukrainian higher education institutions.
